Brace yourself marvel first big flop is coming

No way it could be hit if it becomes hit I'm ready to eat my own shit.

Not a hit, but neither a flop. Ant-Man is a minor franchise in Marvel. This is not supposed to make big numbers, as Avengers do.

And the first one was kind of cute. If this one keeps the charm, many people will drop by the movie theater to watch it.

I don't see it making what Avengers did, but I can see it maybe making more than the first Ant-Man. I think it'll be like Guardians Of The Galaxy. No one was really there opening night for GOTG at the movie theaters where I live. GOTG 2 though, the Thursday night showing before the movie's official Friday release was sold out. There was actually two Thursday night showing (both actually at the same time) and both were sold out. Plus I saw GOTG 1 about a week later and there was more people there than opening night. So word spread. With that, I think something similar might've happened with Ant-Man. Maybe word spread about the movie and it got popular on Blu-Ray/DVD, plus throw in that Ant-Man was also in Captain America: Civil War, which introduced more people to the character. So maybe more people will show up for Ant-Man 2 aka Ant-Man & The Wasp than the first Ant-Man, but not enough to make it top Avengers or even Black Panther. It'll probably be somewhere in the middle. But I'll be there opening night for Ant-Man 2. Loved the first movie, which I also saw opening night when it came out. I'm actually looking more forward to Ant-Man 2 than I was Infinity War.

The first Ant-Man was a fun movie, not a perfect one but still an enjoyable experience. Civil War helped this franchise but that seems like it was ages ago. I'm expecting 600M here, 100M opening weekend. Maybe A:IW will give it a boost simply because the crew from AM&W will play an important role in A4.

I wouldn't go that far to compare Guardians with this movie, GOTG1 and especially GOTG2 were more children-friendly and I don't see that here. GOTG1 was a better movie than AM1, I hope AM&W will be a better movie than GOTG2 (boy that thing was bad).

I've been looking forward to this movie right after seeing the first Ant-Man movie. It will no doubt be another fun addition to the MCU!

Will you eat your shit if it does as good as Justice Plauge?

reply

As a shit-eating retard, how's that's different from any other day for you?

reply

What constitutes being a hit for you?

reply

To him? Nothing will. If this movie made 50 trillion dollars and had a solid 100 critic and user score, he'd still whine.

reply

Need any ketchup? It might help things go down easier.

reply

Maybe stop doing that for a while, ok? So far it's not helping you. And, frankly, it's not normal behaviour.

50-60m opening. 180-200m dom total. 300-350m overseas
= 500-550m total

I think the trend for Marvel movies attached to the MCU is a $600 Million base of $250 Million Domestic and $350 Million International.

A&W should open around $85 Million with reviews and WOM supporting it as a romantic superhero comedy pulling in more females even though it isn't being overtly pushed as a Girl Power movie.

That moment for Marvel capitalizing on a female superhero lead as an Event film has passed. I think that an all female superhero ensemble might be in their plans. Not to antagonize the Anti-SJW Anti-PC factions but to put an alternative movie experience into the marketplace.

Your prediction, though quite a bit lower that the original Ant Man's total isn't really out of line.
