I'd say yes and no to hiding Amber Heard/Mera from the marketing. I say that because a lot of her scenes/screen time is more in "downtime" scenes. She really isn't doing much in them either. So there isn't much to use of her in the marketing. The marketing team probably wants to focus more on the action stuff. They probably just wanted to save her screen time for the actual movie. Also, she IS in the movie for a decent amount of time. Her scenes are scattered throughout. Mostly in the first 30-40 minutes and then for the last 20-30 minutes. She disappears for most of the middle part of the movie, but that's because she gets badly injured when Black Manta attacks/invades Atlantis and is recovering/healing. But during the first 30-40 minutes and then again in the last 20-30 minutes, she is seen decently. It's not like they merged stuff in the beginning and made her MIA immediately and then we don't see her again until after the final battle when everything is wrapping up. She is still part of the final fight/present during the final fight. So yeah. I say yes and no to her being hidden. But I think it has nothing to do with the real life stuff between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The movie really is an Arthur/Aquaman and Orm movie, and that should've been the focus when marketing the movie.
Nope. I would say I'm more right/Republican and I overall liked the movie. And I can separate Mera from Amber Heard (I still enjoy the first Aquaman movie too). Shoooooooot. I hate Tom Cruise in real life, but I enjoy the Mission Impossible movies and can separate Ethan Hunt and Tom Cruise. Mission Impossible 7 was one of my favorite movies of 2023. So yeah. I sort of just debunked claims. Also, the first Aquaman was a little preachy too about stuff. Didn't ruin the movie for me.
I'm pretty anti-woke, and I can debunk that. I would not be saying stuff like that.
I also really don't notice stuff until people make such a big deal out of it.
Look at Black Panther and Wonder Woman. I just saw another superhero movie when I watched the trailers for them. Completely forgot that Black Panther was black (and most of the cast was black) and Wonder Woman was female. I just saw superheroes altogether. But then everyone started making such a big that Black Panther was black and Wonder Woman was a female character. THEN Black Panther became a black superhero movie and Wonder Woman became a female superhero movie. I also didn't connect the dots that most of Black Panther's cast was black. Then when people started making such a big deal about it, then I noticed stuff. Originally, I just saw other human beings when I watched the trailers. Oh and the marketing for Wonder Woman made such a big deal about the director being a woman as well. I'm pretty sure I've seen tons of movies and TV shows that were directed by woman and liked them throughout the years. So I don't know why everyone had to make such a big deal about Wonder Woman's director. I don't care. Just make something entertaining.
Also, when it came to Die Hard, I saw that movie after I had seen some of Family Matters. So when I watched Die Hard, I was pretty much "hey, isn't that the dad from Family Matters?" I didn't see a black guy.
Oh and I've liked plenty of things throughout the years with a non-white main character or a main character that was female. And I still do. Two of my favorite movies of 2022 are Day Shift and Christmas Bloody Christmas. Black main character in Day Shift, and the main character of Christmas Bloody Christmas is female. Also, I liked Chris Hemsworth's female partner in Extraction 1 and 2. My second favorite character of the two Extraction movies. She is a complete badass. AND she's not white. AND I would love to see her as an older/experienced Lara Croft.
You can just find that on Google Images or some celeb nudity site. Plus if you really want nudity or even sex, there is a whole section of the internet to turn to. She's also been nude in other movies before Oppenheimer. Also, I don't really care for that actress, so seeing her nude in the movie did nothing for me. Heck, I've heard she's done nudity in other movies, but I didn't rush to go look it up. The first time I saw her nude was in Oppenheimer. Plus her nude scenes in the movie makes up like a minute or two, which is why I say just go look up screenshots or clips of her nude scenes from the movie on Google Images or a celeb nudity site. Why sit through 3 hours for a minute or two of nudity? Just go look it up. I also want to say all her nude scenes happen in the first half of the movie. So anyone re-watching the movie for that will be bored for the whole second half of the movie. Definitely the last hour. But yeah. Seeing her nude doesn't boost the re-watch factor at all, especially when you can just look up stuff on the internet. You could probably find a compilation video of her nude scenes in the movie.
I agree. It was a good movie, but I have no interest in watching it again or even buying it. And I don't need an explosion every 2-5 minutes. Plus there is a ton of 3-hour movies or movies very close to being 3 hours that I like. I'd say it's also my least favorite Christopher Nolan movie. I think Inception, The Prestige, and the three Batman movies he made have way more re-watch factor to them. And when I say I don't need an explosion every 2-5 minutes, The Batman was my favorite movie of 2022. That movie barely has any action in it. But I also like the Lord Of The Rings movies (both theatrical and extended), Extended Cut of The Patriot with Mel Gibson, 3-hour cut of Avatar, Avatar 2, and the 3-hour cut of Watchmen. I also don't mind Titanic. I can watch/re-watch that. Plus I saw it twice in a movie theater as a kid. I think I was in 3rd grade when it released in theaters. Well, the first time I was interested in it because I just liked whatever my sisters liked and stuff and they wanted to see it. The second time I was dragged to the movie theater because my mom wanted to see it again and if a movie was PG-13 or under, the whole family HAD to go. No if's, and's, or but's. And I wasn't old enough to stay home while everyone else went. So I saw Titanic twice in a movie theater. It flew by both times too. I also liked the 4-hour cut of Justice League. So there are 3-hour movies I like or movies over 3 hours that I like. Plus I don't need constant action/explosions. But for Oppenheimer, I don't see any real re-watch factor in it. It's a good movie, but it's not something I'm going to automatically grab and watch. All the other long movies I mentioned I'd rather watch instead. And I put entertainment first too. All the other movies I mentioned entertained me. Oppenheimer was good, but it didn't exactly entertain. I wasn't really having fun watching it. So yeah. I can agree that the movie has no re-watch factor. It's good, but no re-watch factor.
Even if it wasn't woke, it still sucks. Go read my standalone comment in this thread. I explain why the show still sucks even if you ignore the woke crap.
I knew I should've stopped after the first episode. I should've stopped when I got the red flags of almost everyone being gay/lesbian or bi. Plus the family being diverse. But everyone kept saying the show was REALLY good so I kept watching it. But the show never got better. The first episode already spoiled that everyone dies, so already off to a bad start. I was never interested in the characters either and the show never did anything to make me care about them. The show's narrative was boring. All the horror was just lame jumpscares. The episodes I'm sure could've been all under 50 minutes. No need to make every episode 1 hour or more (last episode for example is 1 hour 16 minutes). And then the ending was lame and not worth it. I should've said eff it and stopped watching after the first episode. The first episode had enough red flags in to tell me to stop. Now it's definitely hard to believe anyone and everyone when they start praising stuff. Plus when they praise stuff and don't go into further detail on why it's good. Oh and I'm done with Mike Flanagan. I'm considered him one of the most overrated directors and maybe writers out there. I haven't liked a single thing since The Haunting Of Hill House. Everything is other a letdown or meh at best. So I'm done with Mike Flanagan. Not watching any future movie or shows he makes.
She was real until she got captured. Things wouldn't make sense if she was a robot the whole time. What did Cochran have against Challis to go through all that trouble to get him to the factory? Cochran didn't care about Challis until he showed up in the town the factory was located in. I'm sure if Challis stayed where he was (continue being a doctor), Cochran would've left him alone. Also, if Cochran really wanted him dead to begin with after what went down at the hospital, he would've sent some men/robots to kill Challis in the town he lived in. So with all that, Ellie didn't become a robot until after she was captured by Cochran's men. Plus Ellie is a yapper. She always had something to say. When Challis reunites with her, she is a mute and relies on body language/using her body to talk/communicate with Challis. She also looks expressionless when she and Challis reunite. So there is another clue she was human up until she got captured and brought to the factory.
Michael was never interested in Laurie in the new movies. In 2018 she shot Michael and he kept walking away instead of turning around and going after her. Then the whole final bit at Laurie's house was set up because the doctor drove Michael to Laurie's house. If that never happened, Michael probably would've been still in Haddonfield roaming around. Kills, the two were separate for most of the movie. But Hawkins said that Michael was never after Laurie (in 2018, he was only after her in the original movie). He never cared about her after she became the one that got away. Then in Ends, Michael only ended up at Laurie's house because Corey was there and had his mask. He wanted the mask back and was following Corey around. That led to a final fight between Michael and Laurie. Everything between the two happened because of others bringing them together. Michael did not care about her.
All this Taylor Swift stuff makes me want to root against the Chiefs. I don't hate Taylor Swift though. But when I watch football, I'm there for football. Not Taylor Swift. It's ridiculous how much she is being discussed now when it's NFL related, especially the Chiefs. It needs to stop. I get it. She'll be at all the Chiefs games. But I'm there for the actual game, not her. Actually, I was going to root against the Chiefs all season anyway for the 2023-2024 season because I'm tired of them going to the Super Bowl now every year. I want to see a different AFC team go to the Super Bowl that isn't the Chiefs or Patriots, but all this Taylor Swift coverage is giving me another reason to root against the Chiefs. And it's getting more and more ridiculous. I don't care that she is at the game or is dating a Chiefs player. I'm there to watch the game. If I want Taylor Swift, there is this thing called the internet.
