Donald Trump

did anyone else notice how the movie mocks trump?
1.) toby jones' haircut
2.) the news banner saying "US President questions ‘the existence of dinosaurs in the first place.’"

reply

the news banner saying "US President questions ‘the existence of dinosaurs in the first place.’"

Well, considering that real dinosaurs had feathers, if a bunch of 'scientists' presented a footage with dinosaurs looking like lizards while claiming they took them back to life, any clever person would suspect it's a hoax and would question their existence in the first place.

Not to say that those supposed 'scientists' keep using the word "Jurassic" when talking about dinosaurs that lived in the Cretaceous. That doesn't add credibility, to say the least.

reply

Its worth noting that when the original films were made the prominent theory was no feathers. We only found out that they had feathers later on. And the same is true for most biological innacuracies in the old films. The new ones just too the same material and said fuck science.

reply

i refuse to watch a movie with CGI animals

reply

Do you refuse to read books with scientist's drawings of extinct reptiles too?

reply

i don't read books, period

reply

I like that attitude.

reply

the media, film stars/directors, tv, journos etc all hate trump (apart from James Woods)

what was the alternative tho? Hilary?

reply

Agreed. There were 2 poisons - morons picked one over the other. If they picked the other, they'd still be morons.

What's fascinating is that it's how they ended up with 2 horrible candidates to begin with that's interesting - average Americans had little to do with that, from what I hear.

reply

Americans didn't pick Trump because he's a good politician, they picked him because he ISN'T a politician. Most of us just don't want the same shit pushed in front of us every 4 years,so it was time to break the mold.

reply

Americans didnt pick shit. The national colledges of the parties picked their candidates. They pretend to take the peoples vote into account but have no obligation to pick the most popular candidate (see: hillary being picked over bernie). the only actually people chosen candidates were the independent ones.

But yes, you are right for why people voted for Trump. Hillary represented the old political block and people were sick of it.

reply

The second one is especially right on the money. LOL

*Cue the anti-Hollywood lib agenda crymanbabies*

And it isn’t actually mocking when he is being portrayed accurately. It’s like the faux outrage that goes like this: “how dare you report on and mock the exact asinine things he says and does... waaa waaa safe space triggs!!!”. XD

reply

The problem is that he is constantly mis-reported. Sometimes it's definitely accurate, but when the media was making shit up a couple of days before it casts a shadow on everything they do. There is a reason that America has never mistrusted the media more than they do today, and it's not just regarding the president.

reply

The problem is that when there is enough legitimate problems caused by Trump, the media tends to focus on ones they made up. I hate trump and i spend more time defending him from outright lies about him than criticizing his failings. The current political debate is a shitshow.

reply

I hate Trump, but has he ever really questioned the existence of dinosaurs?

Also, I hate seeing contemporary politics clumsily shoehorned into blockbuster movies. I think it's perfectly fine, even commendable, to make lager political points about toxic capitalism and the exploitation of the world's resources, as previous Jurassic Park films have done, but lines like 'nasty woman' and specific references to Trump are going to quickly date the film and betray the filmmakers' inability to avoid cheap point-scoring.

reply

And when Ted Levine says “what a nasty woman.” That was a reference to what Trump said to Hillary Clinton.

reply

"Nasty woman."

I rolled my eyes at that stupid shoehorned line.
