C3PO was clearly effeminate, no-one cared. There are already gay characters in Star Wars lore. Believe it or not no-one cares about the sexual preference of the characters in the SWU.
There is a little more at stake like say, the FATE OF THE UNIVERSE, for example.
Poe being gay is fully expected. It won't be groundbreaking if the character is revealed as such.

Making Poe gay and then making Finn afraid Poe is constantly hitting on him and questioning their bromance would actually be a pretty welcome breath of fresh air and the right kind of comedy, if they're looking to have comedy.
