He used to annoy me, but I don't find him to be that terrible anymore. He's definitely not bad enough to be deserving of an entire thread about him. There are people here that are A LOT worse.

I agree. MC has become stagnant, but the challenge remains the same as from the beginning. We'll never come close to what we had with IMDb boards. So much traffic, even with older movies and shows.
I just watched Elysium and Snowpiercer (movie) for the first time this weekend. I can't really engage here without necroposting from old IMDb topics.
But the functionality of the site is good.
We can only hope Amazon realizes that imdb is dead and sterile like this, and buys MC to handle movie chatting (trolls included. I would take MC freedom of speech over any reddit or imdb "moderated" bs).
If Bezos has any balls left after all the roids he took to land his gf, he will buy MC to run imdb's chat.
If Amazon were to buy Moviechat they moderate it into oblivion.

The problem starts with doing the wrong thing: you produce shit, expect negative comments.
Definitely not Imdb level traffic, but I find if you bump those older movies, people will often chime in if they see them trending. You just need to do it during peak times when it gets seen before it gets buried.
shareSometimes I do, but with a lot of older movies, a lot of what needs to be said has already been said. What I have to contribute is in context of the older conversations, so I then find myself replying to a user from a decade+ ago that posted on another site (IMDb).

It’s a travesty that Amazon closed down the iMDB boards. Moviechat needs to attract more users, and a better class of user.
