The bomb (spoilers)

...explodes RIGHT in his face :/
I mean, am i supposed to just pretend here?

reply

looked that way to me.
but pattinson's cheekbones still looked perfect afterwards if i remember correctly.

reply

And people seriously bitch and moan about Batman’s vertebrae being popped back into place in only 3 months.

reply

I love The Dark Knight Rises but that was my only complaint. I wish they had just been more vague about his injuries.

reply

Fair enough, my only real complaint was just the scene where Daggett and Selina have to explain the Clean Slate, they both know what it is so why explain it?

reply

For the movie viewers? It was done poorly but I guess it saved time. The worst for me was how he got back to Gotham so fast with no money.

reply

It took him 23 days to get back to Gotham, it wasn’t quick at all, and he had no problem moving around the world with ease in Batman Begins even before he was trained by the LOS. Him making it back to Gotham is a complete non-issue.

reply

It really wasn't explained well in the movie. One scene he is in that prison the next he is in Gotham. Also if he was in a hurry to stop Bane, why did he take time to make that fire Bat signal?

reply

23 days had passed and he didn’t need an explanation. We know who Bruce is and that traveling around the world is something he’s capable of

As for the bay symbol he had to motivate the people of Gotham to stand up to Bane

reply

Yeah, one of my few gripes about this film was Batman’s suit almost seemed too invincible. They were laying a ton of machine gun fire on him and it was just bouncing off, as well as the bomb blowing up in his face you mentioned. The biggest one for me though, was when he jumped off the building and his cape got caught on a bridge and just smashed him off of a bus or something, and then right into the ground. Batman or not, no way you’re surviving that.

reply

You would think how would have at least covered his face. But if didn't do that.

reply

True. No matter the protective gear, impact alone should have killed him. That and the bomb exploding in his face are surreal.

Then again the smash to the ground stuff happened to Iron man as well, and people did not say anything. I guess Iron man just looked more protected, I suppose.

reply

I thought it was weird that he was still standing there when the timer was almost down to zero. Also, he was unconscious, and the police brought him to the station, but nobody took his mask off!

reply

Yes everyone but Gordon wanted to unmask him but they were scared of Gordon or for some reason respected his opinion so much?

reply

You took injured people to the hospital and undress them immediately. That's the common sense.

reply

It's implied that Gordon would've stopped anyone from unmasking him

reply

His face inches from the actual bomb. His face should've been blown off.

reply

That’s the only scene that bothered me.

reply

Agreed. I can't believe they let that scene get off the cutting floor.

reply

Haha yeah that scene was badly done.

Even more insulting is that they can fix it just by making the explosion way... way... smaller. A small "pop" in the neck will still kill the guy and render Batman unconscious. Just without the huge blowback and a ball of fire lol.

reply

Agreed.

Although the cops NOT unmasking him works for me. I could believe that a lot of the cops, even if they are corrupt, are secretly happy to see someone kicking the asses of the criminals.

reply

Also there was Gordon the entire time. He wouldn't allow anyone to unmask Batman.

reply

It was even worse when he was gliding at 200kph and hit his head with the bridge.

reply

That is more passable because he wears a helmet/mask that is strong enough to withstand bullets

reply

Even if the mask was indestructible, no human brain would whitstand such kinetic force.
