If Catwoman was white in this movie, who would you have casted?

I would have hired Ana de Armas,Vanessa Kirby or Miriam Leone. And you?

Her skin is white

reply

I guess it depends if she considers herself a white hispanic. She sure does look white.

reply

What a stupid comment. Spaniards are white, and many Cubans too.

reply

Because she is of unmixed Spanish ancestry. Last time I checked Spain was in Europe.

reply

Hmm, REALLY???

Damn, people are dumb!!

reply

Amber Heard would be perfect casting.

reply

I just Googled her, and I have to strongly disagree. She doesn't look the part at all.

reply

Oh not at all.

Like everything else, you are totally out of it.

reply

No match for AOC!

reply

Ana de Armas would make a perfect Catwoman. I've not heard of the other two actresses you named.

reply

Samara Weaving

reply

YES!

reply

agreed.

reply

Anne Hathaway or Michelle Pfieffer would be great. Wait… 🤔

Maybe I’ll just have to accept whoever plays Catwoman regardless of their ethnicity or skin tone. It’ll be a challenge for sure, you know, not to get on the internet and moan like a tantrum-throwing 2 year old about something that is of no significance to anyone, but I’ll do my best.

reply

Michelle Pfieffer WAS Catwoman and she also is just about the only thing worth remembering about Batman Returns.

reply

Agreed. By far the best Catwoman so far. I’m willing to give Kravitz the benefit of the doubt though, she might good. If she’s not it’ll have nothing to do with her skin tone 🙄 Seems like every time a black actor is cast in something there’s someone to bitch about it these days. The woke boogeyman wasn’t responsible for casting Eartha Kitt as Catwoman and he’s not responsible for Kravitz now. I don’t know if Catwoman is a “villain” in this but if she is, she kind of goes against the complaint that only white males are villainous in movies now. I reckon people need to chill and give someone a chance.

reply

I always have my radar up for the next woke moves from Hollywood--it IS a problem--but I didn't hear the alarm go off for this bit of casting. It's fine to me. That's probably because I don't think of whiteness/European lineage (or at least a European look) as a being an inherent characteristic of the character.

In any case, this Batman seems to be far from a traditional take on the story anyway. We'll see how it goes on all fronts.

reply

I'm pro Ana de Armas all the way.

I would also have casted Elizabeth Olson (I know she's Scarlet Witch but whatever) and Mila Kunis (based mostly on looks, not sure about her voice).

reply

Liz Olsen is an interesting idea. I'd at least be curious to see how well that works out.

reply

I believe Kirby was in the running , in fact I think she was pretty much announced at one point

reply

Melissa McCarthy

reply

No, it's C not F.

reply

Christine Baranski

Best idea EVER!!!
