The Right-Wing Backlash Against ‘Barbie’ Is Hilariously Flopping

From "Margot Robbie is mid" to complaints about Ken not having balls, they're throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks

AT FIRST BLUSH, it would seem that the right wing would be just as excited as everyone else for the Barbie movie, which opens in wide release this Friday. There is, to be sure, much for conservatives to love: the doll Margot Robbie’s character is based on is a white woman who hews to conventional feminine beauty standards. She has no reproductive organs, so she can’t have sex out of wedlock or get pregnant; nor does she have any orifices, so both speech and sodomy are out of the question. And she’s married to a blandly handsome former prom king type who might secretly dream of tipping back vodka sodas at Bear Night at Flaming Saddles, so there’s plenty for conservative ladies in particular to relate to.

Yet for whatever reason — attention? clout? A preternatural aversion to enjoying things? — the right has come out guns blazing in opposition to the Barbie movie, even though it hasn’t even been released yet.

It's not just the right wing who have objections to the film. I don't usually agree with what people would call far right conservatives, but this is one of the very rare instances where they may actually be right.

Given the option, some of these people would probably bring back HUAC and dig up the corpse of William Hays.

Commie Rolling Stoner! Real Men are Conservative.

And the left's backlash against Sound of Freedom is hilariously flopping.

The right hates the wokeness of Barbie, and the left hates the anti-sex trafficers sentiment of Sound of Freedom...

The right hates the wokeness of Barbie, and the left hates the anti-sex trafficker's pseudo-sentiment of Sound of Freedom.

There, FIFY, spelling and all.

reply

"pseudo-sentiment". Just can't get over the attack on your kind I guess. I mean, so what if it's "pseudo" if the message is just? I guess we all know that answer..

I honestly thought you pervs would just bite your lips and wait this out instead of outing yourselves. But thanks for letting us know where you are on this subject.

The Right also consider suffering Honduran children FAKE NEWS being used to invade the US at the Mexican Border. If Sound of Freedom wanted to achieve true cinematic effect, the trafficked Honduran children would be THE MAIN CHARACTERS.

This movie is based on a true story. At least they picked one - how many of the stories has Hollyweird or other Hollyweird leftist pedos made a movie showcasing this horror?

reply

"Inspired by", you mean. So what? The narrative theme and the marketing contradict the sentiment of the Whitewingers who shill for this movie.

reply

I'm a "blackwinger", but thanks for your thoughts anyway, even if they're incorrect.

reply

No, it's that the movie is highly dishonest about how child trafficking works.

reply

Personal experience??

reply

Lol. They just don't see anything wrong with what they say, do they?

reply

No. It's called research. Thanks to the right virtue signaling endlessly on Child trafficking, I had to ACTUALLY take time to learn how it works.

Spoiler alert:right wingers are pretty delusional on the topic.

reply

right wingers are pretty delusional on the topic.

which parts are they delusional about?

reply

Literally everything. Usually it's the parents that sell them. Not some "border hoping illegal". Also it rarely has to do with actual pedophilia. These are just examples.

Pretty much everything the right claims about child trafficking is ridiculous as they get their understanding of it from movies like this one. That and they use it as some way to accuse everyone possible of commiting.

reply

No. It's called research.

It's actually called confirmation bias.

reply

Everything the right wing has tried to do the last 3 years has hilariously flopped.

reply

Well stated! 🙌🏼 (And it’s glorious to watch)

What "right wing backlash"? A handful of videos on YouTube? Oh, what a backlash.

You are so pliable it's amazing.

reply

It's not hilarious if you believe a movie is dangerous and indoctrination garbage that shouldn't be viewed by kids.

reply

Won't someone think of the children?!

reply

Backlash can flop now? You might be just a troll, but I couldn't give less of a shit if the people who choose to shut off their brains to be puppeted by advertisers outnumber the opposition, I'm still going to point out stupidity when I see it.

reply

Ill go out on a limb and say the guy who deletes his inaccurate predictions when they are wrong, and then lies about it, is a troll.

reply

Who's that?

reply

Argentinian.

reply

'shouldn't be viewed by kids'.

Possibly not. Or probably not by most younger children in any case -- which would explain the MPAA's PG-13 rating, wouldn't it? Do you disagree with the rating?

reply

"'Margot Robbie is mid'"

Mid what? What the hell does "mid" mean?

reply

You're replying to someone who just makes shit up to argue against. I think that's the very definition of a straw man. And a troll.

reply

Mid tier. It basically means that she is average looking.

There was a thing last week where people were people were posting pictures of her without her makeup and saying she was average without it. Then a whole bunch of media outlets wrote articles calling it toxic masculinity etc.

There is no real proof that right wingers are behind it though. Anyone with an opinion can come to that conclusion.
