reasons why it flopped

Hollywood really needs to do something with those streamings. Why do they give their movies to them in 3 weeks is beyond me. This is the main reason movies flop now.

I wanted to go to Fall Guy. But then it flopped and I thought maybe it's not as good. But I was still considering to maybe go. And then bam - it's already on streamings. So that settled my dilemma. Why would I pay when I can watch it for free.

I used to go to movie theaters often. Because it took forever for movie to come to dvd, in like 4 months. All the hype would die down by that time. Now they come 2-3 weeks after and I stopped going. This is why big budget movies flop.

Eventually they will just stop making them. And all movies will be low budget crap with tv like quality. And boring.

You should add Runtime.

I wanted to go to Furiosa. And then I saw Running time is 148 minutes. And it will be exhausting to spend 2.5 hours in that world. So no, thanks.

The Fall Guy 126 minutes. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is 145 minutes.

The two main reasons they make films regardless that they flop.

A.) Write Off
B.) Money Laundering

Fury Road got away with the woke bait-and-switch by marketing as a Mad Max film and then pivoting to girl-boss Furiosa mid-film, and this all happened just when woke was starting to infect cinema.

This time around we’ve seen it all before, and they’re being explicit about it being a Furiosa film, so of course nobody wants to see more tedious woke garbage.

Quality is inversely proportional to woke. As woke goes up, quality goes down, and sure enough we saw lots of CGI in that trailer. Miller and the studio were more interested in woke messaging than making a good film, they got lazy, greedy and dumb.

All Miller had to do was make a proper Mad Max film, and keep Furiosa as a side character, and the studio would be rolling in money. Instead they went woke, so now they’ll go broke 🤷🏻‍♂️

Because people dont want to see a 90lb woman beating the shit out of guys. It isn't even slightly realistic.

Prequels without the original cast don’t do as well at the box office. Solo: A Star Wars story flopped and the Hunger Games prequel didn’t make anywhere near as much as the Jennifer Lawrence Hunger Games films. Fantastic Beasts had about 5 films planned but they’ve stopped at number 3 as the box office returns weren’t as good as the Harry Potter films.

This was always going to flop but it’s a shame it has done as it’s one of the best film prequels I’ve ever seen.

Hopefully we can still get a Mad Max film with Tom Hardy because the world-building George Miller is doing here is fantastic.

I mentioned this in another post ,but I think spending 168 million on a prequel was bad idea. Road Warrior and Thunderdome was made on shoestring budgets of 4 million and 10 million. I think movies are becoming was too expensive Gladiator 2 costing 310 million, Twisters costing 200 million and Joker 2 costing 200 million when the first one cost 55 million to make. Even Fury Road was too expensive costing 185 million and barely broke even earning 380 million worldwide.

Too much time went by between Fury Road and Furiosa (little over 9 years).

Fury Road was not a huge success to begin with (380M worldwide), nor did it leave any loose stuff that had to be resolved/explained in another installment.

Trailers looked too similar to Fury Road and initial critics-word of mouth said it was a solid movie, but also mentioned Fury Road was superior... Dementus looks (exactly) like a less ugly version of Immortan Joe

Fury Road also barely had any story though... it's a 2 hour chase (masterpiece).

I know its a prequel and Miller said he doesn't like the deaging effect, but Charlize IS Furiosa.
