Prey is exactly what fans want in a Predator movie -- bloody deaths, insane weapons, and ties to other films in the franchise. Technically the first Predator movie, Prey is an absolute blast thanks to crazy kills and jump scares. Get ready to love Amber Midthunder!

#Preymovie absolutely slays. By setting it 300 years ago and stripping away the alien hunter's high tech hunting gadgetry, we get a primal David vs Goliath story. Amber Midthunder is fierce, and [Dakota] Beavers rocks in his debut! It's just an awesome gritty B-movie

PREY f**king rules. @DannyTRS smashed it and gave us the best PREDATOR since the original. Lock in, let go, and let it rip

Prey is as worthy & badass a Predator movie as we've seen since the original. Beautifully shot, tightly written, excellent characters, and some of the grossest, most wildly entertaining sci-fi action in the franchise. It's exciting, fun, powerful, & I can't wait to watch it again.

#Prey is one of the best entries in the Predator franchise. Distinctly different from its predecessors, PREY still captures the spirit of the films while also featuring an unexpected hero that's easy to root for. Visually stunning and intensely violent, prepare for heads to roll.

#Prey is my favorite Predator movie. (Coming from someone who's a big fan of the original and also 2010's Predators.) Love how the story is a deeply personal journey -- one powered by Comanche tradition just as much as it is by Predator-sparked thrills.

Hey, so #PREY is fucking *fantastic.* Amber Midthunder is incredible, and no prior PREDATOR fandom is necessary to enjoy — the joy here is watching very clever opponents face off against each other, and it's incredibly thrilling stuff. @DannyTRS knows what he's about.

I'm looking forward to seeing this!

I'm glad I read past the first review because a film being a blast based on jump scares and crazy kills could literally be any average modern slasher film.

reply

Not necessarily a bad thing imo.

reply

I'm more worried than before after reading these quotes.

reply

Yeah ok. Lets talk again mid August. Anyone who says its better than the original is clearly a shill. As are most of, if not all of these reviews.

If its praised by critics - it must be bad and people will hate it ))) Thats how things work in modern Hollywood.

I mean it has small petite Woman of Color as lead actress. And a bunch of "oppressed Native Americans" . How can critics hate it? They will praise it to death. And then people will laugh at it and how petite person is throwing huge alien around and outsmarts him.

It gives me Ghosbusters-2016, Terminator Dark Fate and new Kristen Stewarts Charlises Angels vibe.

There is no way CRITICS would fell in such love to some stupid Predator movie. If it would be male lead in some forests of Europe set 2500 years back then they would not even notice it ))) You would not see their: "Hey, so #PREY is fucking *fantastic.* John Smith is incredible, and no prior PREDATOR fandom is necessary to enjoy — the joy here is watching very clever opponents face off against each other, and it's incredibly thrilling stuff.

WELL...YOU ARE CLEARLY A MORON.🙄

They said that thing about the fandom?

Then it’s shit …

While I agree with many of your observations, I would say there are exceptions. A good barometer to use is the Rotten Tomatoes "Audience Score", which generally speaking is less subject to that bias you rightly point out. Right now the Audience score stands at 82%, which is still pretty good (compared to the critics bias 93%).

Comparatively speaking "The Predator" Critic & Audience score is 33% and "Predators" Audience score is 52%. Over time these scores tend to drop a bit after the initial excitement/fanatics review.

Eagerly awaiting this film, but I'm always cautious with early reviews. I usually wait for the metacritic score, when there are sufficient reviews available, because that score usually lines up with what I will rate a film.
