They lost me with that "savage woman" who looks like supermodel and has her eyelashes and lipstick done

In the trailer

Why, movie, why? It completely took me out. She looked so ridiculous. I had to pause to look up actress. She has to be some nepo child. No way they did casting and she was the best. Has no charisma, no face and no acting talent for Lead Role Among Humans. And had "dumb look" on her. And I don't think she was acting it. It's her regular look of Dumb Rich Girl. She also has her nose done. Hair is perfect.

Could not find any info about her parents. Even name. But she has to be nepo. No way they would hire her for 2 major projects in lead roles with mundane and boring face like that.

reply

Uh, same with the original 1968 Planet of the Apes. Nova looked fucking gorgeous among ''savage humans''.

Always happens. I'm guessing they don't wanna ''dirty up'' their main female lead. Makes sense. Men be oogling. haha

reply

Like she is not even pretty and hot. She has weird face, honestly.

I was even disappointment with trailer. Reminds me of some original movies where they had "dirty savage humans. Then one "curious monkey". Bad big villain ape who forbids monkeys to be curious about past. Our good curious monkey is tagging along some dirty human. Because that human is McGuffin. And then it end up with nothing. There were going somewhere, fighting and movie ended".

They have noting new to show.

Predictable movies can still be entertaining. Hoping that's the case with this one as well.

Take the previous Mission Impossible & John Wick entries, really predictable but super entertaining.

I'm really biased towards these films cause I absolutely adore the concluded trilogy. Looking forward to this.

reply

This does look better than when I first heard of it. I like the direction they're going with the villain. Like he wants apes to advance as a whole but just as a means to an end for gaining more power for himself.

Yes! Was genuinely NOT expecting to actually be hyped for this but I am.

reply

I'll admit, I thought having Wes Ball direct this sounded like a downgrade from Matt Reeves but it looks like it fits in with the earlier trilogy.

reply

Here's to hoping it turns out better than his previous trilogy, The Maze Runner films.

reply

Honestly, I didn't mind those movies. One of the better Y/A film series when they were out.

reply

I liked the first one. Second one was forgettable as hell. Third one was fine.

I never got into YA stuff. Not even in my teens.

reply

Now you got a second chance. They're rebooting Maze Runner!

reply

Unless they'd also be rebooting me back into my teens years, I think i'll pass.

reply

When they announced they will change the director for sequel Dawn I had the same concern: "Why? The first movie Rise was great. Why not use the same director? Who is Matt Reeves? Cloverfield? Meh, it was average."

But Dawn turned out to be the best in the trilogy. When they announced Matt Reeves will do the third movie: War. I was happy: "Yes, Dawn was great! I've faith in Matt Reeves!" Then War turned out to be the worst in the trilogy, I'd say War was the only bad movie in the trilogy.

reply

What? Arent you a man?

reply

Not to go on all-fours. That is the Law! Are we not Men?

reply

this bothers you, but cartoon looking monkeys doesn't?

reply

That's their story. That monkeys were exposed to virus that made them strong. But in their script and Universe people became savages. They don't look after themselves and dumbed down. Yet movie picks one savage woman who has perfect face, mascara, her lips and nose done. And hair is perfectly brushed. Despite her never seeing hair comb. That's cheating.

reply

im talking about the fake looking cgi

reply

I haven't even noticed. Was too distract how ridiculous that woman looked.

reply

i think the cheesy cgi looks more ridiculous

reply

My guess is the woman stumbles upon an old CVS drug store somewhere in the ruins of what once was America and she had access to all this make up, shampoo, etc

reply

It was the same in the Mark Wahlberg reboot.

The woman in that was an absolute corker. Think she only ever appeared in POTA and that Stallone F1 film. No idea what happened to her...

reply

Yeah. I remember her. Estella Warren. Probably slept her way into those movies and then vanished like so many of them. Due to lack of actual talent and box-office appeal.

I looked up her Wiki page. Did some low budget crap after that and is not acting since 2019. She is dark. Even darker than Amber Heard.

Legal issues

On May 24, 2011, Warren was arrested in Los Angeles after she allegedly hit three parked cars with her Toyota Prius and then fled the scene. Police eventually found her and arrested her for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI). During her arrest she allegedly kicked an officer and resisted being handcuffed. Later, at the police station where her arrest was being booked, she managed to slip her cuffs and run, but was quickly recaptured.

Ultimately she was charged with DUI, hit-and-run, battery on a police officer and resisting a police officer. Her bail was set at $100,000. On August 19, 2011, Warren entered a no contest plea to the drunken driving charge and the other charges were dropped; she was ordered to a residential rehab facility for four months.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department recorded Warren's date of birth as December 23, 1970. Although Warren's 1978 birth year is well-established, some news sources then reported that she was born in 1970 or cited her age as if she were born that year.

In 2017, Warren was arrested for domestic violence after allegedly throwing cleaning fluid at her boyfriend.

reply

Nowadays she looks almost like Sharon Stone or Gillian Anderson shortly after they peaked. It seems like she stopped injecting her lips.

The humans should resemble how characters looked in the movie 'The Road'. Skinny, malnourished & filthy.

reply

She has her stylist with her at all times. Makes sense to me. She is a strong independent woman! REMEBER THAT!

I mean didn’t the original movie in 1968 have beautiful lady in that movie she look like a model or something no one complained about it. I think the remake in 2001 also had pretty lady in that one as well. So this isn’t really anything new is it? Although I will admit I thought her face was animated or something when I first saw the trailer like it was photoshopped or CGI lol.
Her acting wasn’t bad though at least from what I saw from trailer.
