Still wonder whose idea it was to name it "Marvels" instead "Captain Marvel 2". Which just made viewers confused

I was confused for a long time what the hell it is and why "Captain Marvel" vanished from the title.
Was it spin-off? Was it another movie, not related? Is Brie Larson simply a guest in this spin-off?

Only after trailer came up I understood that this has to be "Captain Marvel 2". Why does it have another title we will never know.

And how many people just missed it and never went to theater. Thinking it's some another new Marvel Universe movies about characters they dont know. There are really ordinary people who may see that "Captain Marvel 2" is coming out and may check to see it since they saw first one. But they see "Marvels" title and think its some new movie with new characters no one talks about and they ignore it.

because there was no demand for a captain marvel 2 film. The first one only did well because it was a bridge between the MCUs two most popular films and marketed as a must see. at a time when the MCUs interconnectedness was masterly crafted. and people were willing to take a chance on most Marvel films, esp one with a new hero.

its why they had to throw in the other ladies, hoping it would bring in ms marvel fans, and Rambeau fans from Wandavision and save this junk.

And how many people just missed it and never went to theater.

thats a good excuse but no. no one MISSED it due to the title. if you were a fan of captain marvel in the MCU, you would be bombarded with ads, be following it etc. it was impossible to miss. meaning there was no actual sizable captain marvel fans.

Who are Ms Marvel and Rambeau from Wandavision? What fans? Ms Marvel is some show for teens that no one watched. And who is Rambeau I dont remember despite watching Wandavision. She has no fans, believe me.

And that's why this movie flopped so hard. When they say that you must watch some boring teen show and Wandavision that came years ago - people just pass.

Im agreeing there are no fans.if there was each would have gotten a soli film. they clearly knew it would fail so tried to throw all their eggs in one basket and hope it added up to a decent audience.

We cant verify how many saw Ms marvel it had 110k IMDB votes. Wandavision had 300K. we cant know how many more saw it but it was clearly less popular. for context Loki has 377k, Guardians 3 340k. and very popualr box office successes like endgame had 1.2 million

i also forgot who rambeau was after watching Wandavision as well. what did she do again?

I think it means Captain Marvel is done after this, it is time to prepare her replacement, paving ways for young avengers.

In term of this movie I think that is Iman Vellani, another new Disney princess next to Xochitl Gomez, Alaqua Cox, Kathryn Newton and Hailee Steinfeld, an almost all girl team.

I think it is in Disney DNA.

Time to bring in The X-Men and Fantastic Four. Especially The X-Men. Let's see what they can do with the franchise. They hit it out of the park with the third Spider-Man, so maybe they can do well with the new X-Men. Maybe put in a proper Gambit in as well since he's a favorite of the fans from the old cartoon.

I think this is the last thing people who watch all the movies and TV shows would be confused about. Seemed pretty self explanatory.

If Disney thought people liked the character Captain Marvel, they would have called it Captain Marvel 2.

Aside Iron Man McU dosnt do numbered sequels so it could've been only have called 'Captain Marvel: The Marvels' or 'Captain Marvel: Something' , they probably figured 'The Marvels' was good enough/worked well considering there's 3 of them .. But then it might've helped to have 'Captain Marvel' there like 'Captain America: Winter Soldier' etc idk

I never really thought of The Marvels as a Captain Marvel 2 movie. Although I do think the Marvels makes sense since they are tying the other two ladies into the movie. Perhaps Brie Larson will still get her own CM 2 movie after this.

She will never get get official CM 2. Not after this colossal flop. Simply because it will make even less money.
