Was it really necessary to show that guys dick?

We get it HBO you love dicks, you love showing them and you love reminding us you can get away with showing them, enough already.

At least show some pussy in return occasionally, and i don't mean show some bush where the actual pussy is covered up with hair either.

reply

Oh stfu you gets tits tits and tits all the damn time. So what it’s a little bit of peen.

reply

And do we ever get any pussy shown? And i don't mean bush i mean full frontal shaved pussy shots like the one we got of that dick in the episode? No almost never.

reply

Being the nature of the beast of internal versus external I wouldn't expect any actress to spread her legs for a tv show..whereas a man just has to stand there.
Sorry but there is a big difference and generally females have been used gratuitously far more than males.
I understand...when I was a young girl and saw women continuously nude in film and saw no men ever it was hard to understand. Some of you guys seem to be having the same learning curve.

reply

They don't have to spread their legs to show vagina, its pretty visible with them just standing straight up as long they have no pubic hair. I'm not asking for them lay on their back and spread it or anything ffs.

reply

I don't think most real mean want to see shaved pussys... When they are shaved it's to close to looking at kiddie porn. The hair is what defines it as a woman and not some little girl. But hey if you get off on that kind of thing maybe you should start a club with Polanski, seems he gets off on little girls too.

reply

I'm not sure a Brazilian wax fits the motif of Westworld.

reply

public display of tits doesn't get you arrested and neither does female frontal nudity. Unless she''s holding it open or something. Dicks clearly have a double standard against them.

reply

I didn't watch it, but I'm going to go ahead and say, yes, it was necessary.

reply

It felt... forced, dare I say.

reply

Yeah exactly, as i said just put in there to emphasis they can show it.

reply

In the story, the guest needs to strip all off and wear west world dress before go into the west world. Otherwise, it might cause some damage - a hooker might start questioning her reality if she saw a modern underpant from the real world. Having said that, a shot of his butt should be enough to make that point. The "Full Frontal Nude Scene" is a whole different thing. It felt forced because it is - a big "F*ck you" or more precisely "Eat a dick" to the audience who were waiting to see Maeve got naked. An explanation that could make it necessary, is that the scene is a shock therapy to help us realize that all those stripping off, raping and murdering in the west world are not only to satisfy the guest but also to satisfy us, the audience. Dolores got her revenge on the guests. While Maeve got her revenge on the audience.

reply

I also feel it symbolizes a shift in power... It is no longer the humans that are in control...

reply

agreed, its her way of telling him whos in charge now

reply

The whole point of that scene was that this is what the human "masters" did to the hosts. In season 1 the naked hosts were paraded around by Delos employees who barely looked at them; i.e. they weren't people to be treated with any kind of dignity, not even objects of desire, just merchandise. Felix was one of the few who seemed to be bothered by all this. It's why Dr. Ford chose him to be the one who "discovered" Maeve, because he knew the guy would help her without any need to bring him in on the plan.

In this scene the tables have been turned. Maeve could've let him go change privately, but she took the opportunity to humiliate him the same way she'd been humiliated so many times. And yes, it brings home to the former slave master that he's not running the plantation anymore.

Where is Felix anyway? I hope the other hosts didn't kill him.

reply

chrisjdel, you’ve already
written the answer that I was about to write. It was all about power. It was a form of rape.

And Spartacus on STARZ showed ‘WAY more dongage than GOT and Westworld combined.

reply

chrisjdel; Excellent answer...It's very dehumanizing and has often been used as a method of making someone feel powerless, vulnerable and dehumanized..Mauve was definitely signalling her power over him even though she had allowed him to live...

Anyone else think Ford "chose" Felix?

It honestly never occurred to me, but it makes sense.

reply

At one point Ford chastised Felix for putting clothes on one of the hosts, as if they were human beings who needed comforting or to be kept warm. Out of all the staff Felix was the only one who thought to do such a thing. I'm pretty sure that's when Ford realized he'd be the perfect candidate. Someone who would help a sentient host instead of lobotomizing them or reporting the situation to higher ups at Delos.

reply

Completely forgot that bit, thank you

No doubt Ford also knew about Felix’s unauthorized experiments with the bird, and sensed his empathy for the hosts

reply

This

Was he circumcised btw? I somehow didn't get that...

So you have no problem watching dozens of people get shot, hanged, stabbed, tortured, raped for your entertainment, but you DO have a problem with seeing a penis depicted in a non-sexual way. Interesting world we live in.

reply

First of all, i'm a dude so yeah i kind of have a problem seeing a real dick over fake violence, 2nd of all its bullshit when they NEVER show any pussy, Delores has been naked how many times? And how many times did we ever see her tits or pussy? Thats right never, but a dude strips down and of course they have no problem full on showing his whole dick.

reply

It is about time you lost some of that shame. This is the twenty first century, not Victorian England.

reply

Why do you have a problem seeing a real dick? Do you watch only lesbian porn?

reply

If there is ANY kind of GOOD story line, ANY AT ALL, no nudity is EVER necessary, ever. Unless, of course the story line itself is directly about nudity in some way.

Think about it for a while. ALWAYS ALWAYS they show nudity only to create buzz, go viral, "push the envelope" to show how cool they are.

It's NEVER needed.
Just in porn.

reply

It's not necessity but want...

reply

...thus... free porn. go for it. still not needed in well written stories

reply

Wait until you see ep4. I'm not complaining.
