Did this age well? Is it still relevant?

It's still a fun, fantasy action movie, I still enjoy it now as I did back then.

Relevant? What does that mean?

It is a movie based on a comic that is based on Spartan Propaganda. It is a fun sword and "sorcery" flick and worth a watch.

I never understood the love for it. I'm sure it's still appreciated. I prefer the comic though.

I haven't watched it recently, but my recollection is that it was always a "trashy" movie. Albeit, a "critic-proof" one. By this I mean simply that 300 knows what it wants to be: a rah-rah movie of sweat, blood, and HONOUR! and that's *exactly* what it delivers. It's supposed to be nothing but fun, carnage, and very basic virtue vs. vice in terms of its substance. It's not here to "say" anything, so anybody who watches the film and says, "It's not a good movie; it's trashy," isn't really going to deter anybody who wants to watch it. We know. We're going anyway. We didn't buy tickets to watch high art or the epitome of cinematic excellence. We want "THIS IS SPARTA!" and "TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL!" and "Then we will fight in the shade."

I think it’s aged well and is still as fun as it was upon its initial release.
I wouldn’t classify it as trashy by any means.
One of my dreams that will never come to true is for Zack Snyder to bring the Age of Apocalypse comic run to the big screen in similar fashion as 300, R rated, hyper stylized, sexy, violent, and bordering on the absurd.

It’s not historically accurate AT ALL.

The patina of this movie screams 2000s Action/Fantasy. The entire film's cinematography matches the battle of Minas Tirith segment from RotK, as well.

Relevant? It's an action movie based on something that happened thousands of years ago. Does anybody even know what "relevant" means anymore?
