“This is MAGA country!” : MAGA supporters brutally beat black gay actor from 'Empire'

Actor Jussie Smollet, star of the show 'Empire' was brutally attacked outside a Chicago Subway sandwich shop early Monday morning. The two white men beat him up, put his head in a noose, and yelled "This is MAGA country!"

The altercation started when the 36 year old gay black actor - who had just arrived in Chicago from New York - was leaving the sandwich shop around 2 am. Someone yelled out, "Aren't you that f***ot 'Empire' n*****?"

The two white men - wearing ski masks and MAGA hats- approached Smollet and brutally beat him. The actor fought back, but suffered a fractured rib. The two men then put a noose around his neck, poured bleach on him, and then yelled "This is MAGA country!" before leaving him. The actor was taken to Northwestern Memorial where he was treated.

Just eight days ago, an anonymous letter was sent to the actor at FOX Studios in Chicago, with "MAGA" written in the top corner for the return address. The letter says, "You will die black f**." in cut-out letters.

Chicago police are investigating these two incidents as a 'hate crime' and checking the neighborhood for surveillance cameras.

"Given the severity of the allegations, we are taking this investigation very seriously and treating it as a possible hate crime," said Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi . "Detectives are currently working to gather video, identify potential witnesses and establish an investigative timeline. The victim is fully cooperating."

I hear Jesse Smollet says that this shouldn't be looked at as an isolated incident that the same thing happens to his brothers, sisters and non gender conforming allies everyday but the thing is we all know the media would jump on any of these stories in a heartbeat and crave these stories with every ounce of their being but all we have is a long trail of these types of stories being proven false because none of this stuff is ever happening in this day and age and now the latest one is from a big time liberal on the Hollywood payroll with no proof coming out in the age of surveillance and him refusing to hand over his phone to collaborate his story FOH with that.

It's sad that i'm just now learning about the four black people in Chicago who kidnapped and tortured a mentally handicapped white kid and made a video with them cutting off a piece of his scalp while yelling "F Trump, F White People" and all were given extremely light sentences meanwhile this obviously fake Jussie Smollett story was everywhere you look. Something needs to be done about the MSM in this country and it needed to be done yesterday

Bosdog, I remember that story and it was talked about but not to the extent some stories get. I think that boy was autistic.
With the news media, if it doesn't fit their narrative they either won't report it or they tell the story once, quickly!
They also make a habit of mentioning colors only if it makes whites look bad.

Jussie is full of it. His story makes no sense, especially to those of us from Chicago! 🤣🤣 Tomorrow he will be interviewed on GMA and I'm sure he'll lay it on thick.
He finally turned over his phone records but it was a PDF file HE created! The police rejected it. He's definitely hiding something. The truth -- that is what he's hiding. His little plan didn't work and his butt needs to be prosecuted and thrown in jail.
This story is as phony as the Covington high schoolers with Nick "standing there aggressively" 🤔 (you got that Savanna?!)
They don't want to talk about THAT story anymore!

And where are all the women these days screaming "WE BELIEVE SURVIVORS! WE BELIEVE SURVIVORS!"....
They must be on vacation.

Investigation Into Rope And Bottle

Detectives are trying to determine the origin of the rope used in the alleged attack. Investigators are trying to determine where it came from, or where it might have been purchased.

Police are also investigating a half-empty hot sauce bottle with a clear liquid in it, which recently was found near the scene of the alleged attack. Sources said the bottle smelled like bleach, which might corroborate Smollett’s claim his attackers poured a liquid chemical on him.

The bottle was not found during early evidence searches, but discovered later by a newspaper reporter.

It is unclear if it’s related to the attack. Police turned it over to an FBI technical assistance team.

It took an independent newspaper reporter to find a crucial piece of evidence, something the Chicago police couldn't find for two weeks? Or was it something the Chicago police didn't want to find?

I heard all of this on my local news and in articles nearly a week ago.
It's amazing 2 weeks after the fact with cameras all over the place they still can't find anything but a blurry picture of 2 dudes walking down the street🙄
Jesse's tiny scratch on his face after his "attack"...I've had worse scratches from my cats by accident! THAT's the damage 2 guys did to him?!
First they were white guys with MAGA hats in the middle of the night with a polar vortex going on and 2 dudes just so happen to know Jussie is gonna run out to subway at 2am so they get their string, I mean, rope ready and some bleach in a half used bottle of hot sauce to pour on him. And then "beat him up," yell anti-gay slurs and say "this is MAGA country!" in the very blue liberal Chicago? Especially that part of Chicago where it's either black and/or gay? 😂😂 Even the people who live near there aren't buying this far-fetched story.

Then the story changed. He must have known he laid it on pretty thick. No MAGA hats. In fact, their faces were covered with black masks, which was smart because it was about 1 million below zero that night but who knows though, maybe they didn't have masks. Maybe it was those guys from Virginia with shoe polish on their faces and he only thought they were wearing masks.

Then we were told he had cracked ribs and was in the hospital for treatment. Nope. Never went to the hospital. Only his doctor. No broken anything. Those 2 guys must not have had their Wheaties that day!
Then Jussie didn't even get the police involved until after he went home but made another call first. He probably also wanted to eat his frozen bleach-soaked sandwich first too. Yum.
Then a couple days later he's just fine to do a concert!

Who's buying this 💩?!

Then his TV mom talks about him saying he's all love. Has she SEEN his social media?!!

When no evidence of an attack comes back, watch how quietly this story goes away.

The incorrect "sources" spreading propaganda are probably trolls with spoofed email addresses, trying to sew a little chaos by pretending to be legit sources. They know journalists jump at the chance to be first in this 24 hour news cycle world of ours.

It wouldn't be the first time trolls have done that... in fact, it's FAAAAAR from the first time. Decades, even.

I would actually agree with you there.

Time will tell. This stinks to high heaven.

I lived in Chicago for over 40 years and still go there very regularly as I have many family members and friends who still live there.
I've never once seen anyone even wear anything MAGA. Even bumper stickers are rare. Your windows would be smashed in in this very blue state. Trump supporters don't go around advertising in Chicago.

The brothers were arrested, and expect to be charged sometime today or tonight. Here is what police found in their apartment:

Police raided their home in the Windy City, removing bleach, a “black facemask hat,” a red hat, an “Empire” script, receipts and other items.

This is as much a 'hoax' as Mueller's investigation is a 'witch hunt'.

CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says media reports about “the Empire incident being a hoax are unconfirmed by case detectives.” He says the “supposed CPD sources are uninformed and inaccurate.”

FOX is denying he was being written off the show. And no way in hell is Smollett suggesting he was being written off the show before the incident. That claim comes from the undisclosed sources of an ABC7 reporter.
