What should be the penalty for faking a hate crime?

Death? This POS exploits and mocks those who have really suffered. Those who lived over a century ago but were freed by Republican President Abraham Lincoln and the whites who fought and gave their lives to free slaves.

Faking a crime should be the same punishment as the crime that was faked. Get a rope.

He could get probation or 1 to 3 years incarceration for each of 6 counts. I think he should be sentenced to one year in prison.

reply

I think death is better... it sets an example to others.

reply

Probably a violation of the Eighth Amendment.

reply

Then maybe a public whipping, minimum 25 lashes.

reply

I would say 1 year if he had made a plea, owning it and apologizing.

But as things are now, I’m hoping he gets the maximum due to his complete disregard for his actions, wasted resources, and damage to society, oh, and for riding his lies to the very end.

reply

"...if he made a plea, owning it and apologizing."

He had all the time in the world to do that aside from not making up the whole thing for sinister reasons in the first place.
This guy is a vile, disgusting person that tried to fuel the race war further.

He can rot on Alcatraz for decades for all I care.

reply

I agree, the context was if he had initially, 2 years ago.

reply

If he had admitted to making the whole thing up and showed remorse, I'd suggest probation, community service and heavy fines, however, he's digging in his heels and still claiming his version of events happened, so I definitely think he should face some prison time.

reply

Totally agree. As someone who doesn't think "hate crime" should be a thing. Whatever the penalty, he should get the same sentence and a lot of public shaming.

reply

6 months in jail, heavy fines, maybe 200 hours of community service and he must issue an apology to the public.

reply

Perfect.

reply

Community service and a fine should be the punishment.

reply

Penalty for faking a crime should be the same as what committing that crime would be. You're effectively stealing from real victims, helping the next real perpetrator get away with it possibly, due to increased doubt.

reply

Jesus H. Christ, what the fuck is wrong with you?

reply

Well judging by the responses of the others you and your ignorance are once again a minority.

Perhaps you should take a moment to put together a more substantive response.

Wait I apologize, I forgot it’s not in your small minded lemming capacity. Run along.

reply

The majority do NOT agree with your "death" proclamation. Can you not read?

reply

lmao, no one agreed with your insane suggestion. Except for one guy, who negotiated down to a public whipping.

Well judging by the responses of the others you and your ignorance are once again a minority.

This is why there's so much bs in the world lol. People straight up lying in the face of contrary information.

reply

2 yrs probation. Community service. Huge fine. Public admission of guilt with apology.

reply

His masters in the Democrat media/party would send him to prison before they’d allow him to apologize. It would be like admitting people fake hate crimes which obviously would never happen.

reply

He wasted massive amounts of public resources between police, prosecutors and the courts. Far worse - he was willing to send innocent people to jail to cover for his crime and risk triggering racial violence with the "MAGA country" nonsense. No way should he avoid at least some prison time.

reply

He should get beat up by a Black Conservative wearing camo shorts, Maga hat and a Confederate Flag cutoff.
