Nobody could have foreseen his height.

He was normal height as a child, but after 12 he just stopped growing.

If he was 5’9 he would’ve been cast as the leading man in any high profile movie since Harry Potter. His tenacity is why he got lead roles after that.

I don’t understand how ya’ll keep ignoring this all important fact to do well in A-list Hollywood.

Ryan Gosling is deadpan in every movie he does. Especially Notebook & La la land. The most recent acting disgrace has to be Ansel Elgort in the Westside Story remake. Those guys get the part but can’t do it for ish.

reply

He's taller than Tom Cruise by 2 inches... It isn't his height that keeps him from getting staring roles in high profile movies. Most likely it is his douche bag looks because he looks like a pussy. I know you have a hard on for him, good for you... but the reality is he at best has a goofy enough face to be in comedies.... but to be taken as a serious leading many? Not gonna happen.

reply

You don't think he could be a Bond, I'm guessing.

reply

All three of them are terrible actors. It's a credit to him that he's still living on the fumes of Potter.

reply

hes one of the only great young actors to come from that series. which is surprising because in the first film I thought he was the worst of the three

reply

I don't think Gosling is a terrible actor. He does well in most of his movies, anyway.

reply

TERRIBLE OPINION.

reply

Does it fucking matter??? I doubt he even cares. Hes rich beyond most peoples wildest dreams. He does a project here or there and will probably play Harry again one day. He seems like hes content and would not give a shit about what people think of him.

reply

dudes worth 100 million pounds, but hes crying cause some nobody on MC said hes short.

reply

Daniel Radcliffe reads the posts here??😂

reply

exactly. although some people are stupid enough to believe it. in one of my first posts I said "im Leonardo dicaprios assistant, he sent me on this site to report to him what average people are saying"

Chilone says I was being serious and wasnt joking and caught lying and now im pretending it was a joke to save face. some people are dumb af and would believe that

reply

You were being serious and you know it. Repeating your lie over and over will never make it true, loser.

reply

yes my single offhand comment I made as a joke and never said was clearly serious...... up the medication.

reply

Give up your your lie.

reply

im glad the home that looks after special people like you lets you on the internet but you are just dumb af

again yes my single offhand comment I made as a joke and never said was clearly serious... retard detected

reply

Ooooooo!! I got a private message with this thing's typical insults, from our resident liar. Give it up, loser.

reply

gotta remind you what a retard you are

reply

Leo wouldn't approve. He might suspend you.

reply

little dog following me on other threads

reply

You're a joke and a liar. Do yourself a favor and delete your account.

reply

hahaha thats all you got? I look forward to your in-depth expansion how someone could be so retarded they'd take that comment seriously. you probably furiously typed that comment form the short bus

reply

Keep doubling down on your lie.

reply

its literally the opposite of doubleing down. you dont even know what that term means retard LOLLL. ive changed nothing ive said. I still hold the exact same position. hahahah how was the ride on the short bus?

reply

Lol. You're a joke.

reply

yes I love destroying and embarrassing u. you followed me like a little doggie to another thread. only bitch is you

reply

"im Leonardo dicaprios assistant, he sent me on this site to report to him what average people are saying"

That guy is such an insufferable blowhard.

reply

It's true, short guys aren't offered some kinds of roles in Hollywood, unless they're backed by a rich and powerful cult or something. A short Brit like Radcliffe isn't going to be offered action hero roles or romantic hero roles, not in Hollywood. Hollywood's cutoff is actually around 5'6", a well-proportioned guy as short as that can be made to look tall onscreen, but Radcliffe is 5'5" and probably shorter.

Hollywood limits short guys to character roles and comedy, so Kevin Hart gets offers for starring roles! Radcliffe can also be very funny, so he's always going to get offers. And IMHO the life of a good character actor is better than the life of a star.

reply

not really sure why height is that big of an issue. it's hollywood, everyone looks 6' on camera. if they don't, add some smoke and mirrors and voila. i did a college project years ago where we had a big burley guy (who was only 5'9 in real life) appear to be 6'3+ on camera simply because we had him stand on apple boxes and stands. if we could do that on a $100 budget, hollywood sure as fuck can.

reply

Yeah, they were able to convincingly do it with Alan Ladd back in 50s when his romantic interest was taller than him. If the two were walking together, they'd just have him walk on a raised platform.

reply

Stallone usually looked big in his movies, clocking in at 5'10".

Robert Downey Jr. is another actor I can think of that can actually look other actors eye to eye or see over counter-tops in his movies (something he couldn't do IRL without his mega-platformed high-tops).
Same with Tom Cruise, when he's not wearing his high-heels, he's also a peck

reply

Well they could if they saw that he had short parents. I think I've even heard Radcliffe say he has a short dad, so chances are he was going to end up short as well. It could have been determined back when he was first cast as Harry Potter.

reply

Actually, they may have deliberately looked for kids with short parents!

Because yeah, in the books Harry is described as getting pretty tall around 16-17, but since the movies weren't made in real time the last thing they wanted was a kid who'd shoot up to adult height too early. Because of the shooting schedule, the actually needed a kid who'd look 15 at 18 and 16 at 20 (approximately), and so better to hire kids who wouldn't get too tall too fast. That actually happened some years ago, they made a "Peter Pan", and the kid they hired to play The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up grew about a foot while the movie was being shot!

reply

Aren't the highest profile actors usually super short?
I remember looking at pics comparing the heights in Hollywood and being surprised that it's almost rare for the ultra-famous to break 6'... even 5'10" is lightyears away from a lot of Hollywood.

I noticed that famous rappers tend to be super-little guys as well.

Maybe its some kind of "little-man syndrome" at play, and that's what motivates them to be "better" than everyone. Not sure, tbh...just something I noticed.

reply

a lot of child actors end up being very short adults because they're typically always short for their given age. daniel radcliffe was definetly not at a "normal height as a child" because Radcliffe was 13-years-old playing a 10-year-old, a teenager playing an elementary school student. they're older actors with more experience but they look much shorter and younger than they really are, so they're perfect at playing younger kids. Shia LeBouf, Elijah Wood, Macaulay Culkin, Corey Feldman, Corey Haim, Tom Holland etc all peaked below 5'7. It makes sense to cast kids who look way younger than they actually are, and shortness plays a huge factor into it.

I'm 5'8 and i've been pretty much the same height-to-age ratio my whole life.

reply

I agree. Still, I didn't like Culkin pretending to be younger than he was, his maturity shun through.
