Hollywood loves preaching about diversity and inclusion yet her role opportunities quickly dried up as soon as she "transitioned". For all their posturing Hollywood isn't really omitted to diversity.
If you claim to be a male you really should have thought things through career wise. She's only 5'1" and that's way too short to be considered leading man material. She should detransition and seek mental help.
Besides his height making it hard to get roles, it’s also that Wizard of Oz voice. The only roles he will get now will be that of a person who has transitioned.
Frankly, Page should simply retire from acting as things are never going to be as promising for him as they were a decade or so ago. While there might be a market in LGBTQ-themed films, the unfortunately aren’t many of those productions made, and Page would be difficult to cast in many of them. Given how humiliating things are when you are an openly lesbian actress trying to audition for roles, being a trans-man trying to audition for roles against cisgender male actors is going to be excruciating. He’s going to find that his career is going to wind down and that’s rarely a pleasant experience.
When she stops getting attention she’ll detransition.
If it was only drugs and a haircut, sure. But she went all in and had a double mastectomy. You have to give her credit - she wasn't fooling around. For all we know, she also had an addadicktome.
Honestly, the best plan is for her to stay all-in as Elliot. The moment she decides she screwed up and that she's really a woman or at least a lesbian is the day she will be in danger of offing herself (and I hope she doesn't).
Hopefully, whatever she chooses from this point forward, she will find peace in her decision.
The moment she decides she screwed up and that she's really a woman"
Jesus, she couldn't have determined she was a female before she did all of this?? How fucked up is she?? She's as bad as that Supreme Court Justice who couldn't answer the question as to what a female is and SHE'S a female for Christ Sake??
I agree BKB, but while common sense issues seem so obvious to you and me, it isn't to others. I honestly feel sorry for anyone so confused about something as obvious as gender that it results in permanent mutilation.
Her career probably had a short shelf life to begin with. She's a very specific archetype, a sarcastic, cynical, boyish looking girl who works at a coffee shop in some bohemian neighborhood in a large metropolitan city, and is so average looking and apparently approachable that she's deemed a goddess to the nerds who hang out all day with their laptops wherever she works. Sort of a po' woman's Janeane Garofalo. She might've had an adult career playing supporting roles, like the frustrated angry friend of the main female lead in a lame romantic comedy. Her options would've been limited in any case.
