Sentenced to 3 years

The judge was defenitely nice to her as she was facing a minimum of 14 years, she seems to be rehabilitated in all this time, she made amends, apologized to all of the victims and people affected, helped take Raniere down, went to school, had a humble job and spend more than 3 years on home confinement.

reply

Yes, she did all the right things to improve/clean up her tarnished image. She obviously was brainwashed by that horrible Raniere. I thought she'd get something like 5-15 years but the judge thought a little less was in order. Fascinating case it seems like everybody involved lost.

Pussy pass.

reply

Wait until she gets out EARLY then people will be screaming about the P P.

reply

She entered a minimum security prison yesterday.

It would not at all surprise me if she only did about 18 months inside with the rest home confinement. It seems like people who do time in low security prisons seldom do all of it inside, especially if they show themselves to be low risk inmates. They also kind of hate celebrity inmates, they're a headache.

Completely different situations. Mack pleaded guilty. Maxwell denies everything and has plead not guilty.

I am not suggesting that Maxwell is guilty, but I can see why bail would be denied. I mean she has French citizenship and even though she said she would denounce it perhaps the judge thought she still might do a Polanski. She does have many friends who could help her escape justice.

There is also the other hand, that perhaps they are keeping her confined to keep her alive. I don't usually buy into conspiracy theories, but there are a lot of rich and powerful people involved in this so......?

So, are you saying that the judge is an incompetent?

reply

[deleted]

Well, that would put Clare in two possible scenarios, being mentally retarded not only for not knowing how to persuade the judge, but also for making him so pissed off that he added several more years than what was recommended for her, or being so completely brainwashed she still believes Raniere is Jesus Chris, which would also make her mentally retarded.

reply

Ghislaine Maxwell, who was not, according to available reports, involved in hot iron branding girls, is receiving very different treatment in jail. (not home confinement) There is a documentary about her life called Notorious that was quite illuminating. It's on youtube.

They're even torturing her.

I'm not kidding. They're awaking her every 15min.

Sleep deprivation is actually a type of torture. And it's quite effective.

For child trafficking, seems like light sentencing

reply

I don't even think Raniere was charged with child trafficking. Sex trafficking yes, but I don't think that there were children involved in this case.

a light sentence.

reply

Still a very tragic and sad case

reply

She probably won’t even serve a year and get out early for good behavior.

reply

Most likely

reply

I posted this 8 months ago, so I missed by 7

"It is a Federal case and there is no parole in the Federal sentencing, so she will serve some years. Maybe 10. Combine both 20's to one 20 year sentence, then cut that by half because she pled guilty."

reply

I thought she was going to get 3 to 5 years, then when the sentencing guidelines were revealed I thought it would be 8 years no less, I posted the latter like 2 days before her sentence
