So sick of seeing this scumbag everywhere.

Why do people don't have any standards anymore¡?

What movie?

Sadly, I have to agree. Not with the scumbag part, but with the overexposure. He's just seems to be in an over abundance of films and TV. I never disliked him, but I am starting to groan when I see his name. Ballers, Baywatch, Jumanji, Rampage, etc. I think he's even doing another TV series or reality show. He's also slated to appear in 3 more movies I'm interested in, Shazam, Doc Savage, and Big Trouble in Little China. No way can he pull off Jack Burton.

I've never had a problem with him before, and he was entertaining enough, but it's getting to be too much. Take a step back. Give some work to some other actors. The same actor in everything just ruins it.

reply

I'm definitely getting Rock fatigue. But i'm not quite sick of him yet. He's working nonstop so he's constantly on tv. Guy's a box office juggernaut who's got at least ten more years of hit films in him. I will definitely be sick of him by then.

reply

he was in 4 fuc#ing movies last year. how can you not be sick of him? he was in moana, the newest fast and the furious movie, baywatch, and the jumanji movie. and now he's in rampage? enough already, i'm so sick of seeing his face in every other movie, my gosh. he's in a new wwe movie and he's even on a tv show called ballers and in a reality show on usa and was just on snl, like enough already. i mean i can't remember an actor being in so many things in a year's time.

reply

Don't forget his skyscraper movie. They've already started the ad campaign for that. That'll be here in July.

reply

I don't think he's a "scumbag," but I do think he's overrated and overexposed. He was great on wrestling from 1998-2000, but even then I got sick of "The Rock." I can honestly say that I've never seen a Dwayne Johnson movie I liked.

reply

Before he commits to running for the presidency he should first commit to making one good film before he retires from acting forever.

reply

exactly to your post headline thought and to the point inside it. gosh damn i came here to bitch about how it's wrong how he is in 3 movies every year. holy shi@ i don't think i've been this frustrated with an actor appearing in so many movies in a short period of time in a few years.

he was just last year in Baywatch, Moana, and the Jumanji movie, so that's 3 movies in just one year and now just 4 months later he's in rampage???!!! how in the world does just he have enough time to make this many movies in just one year's time? and he's also on a tv show on like Showtime called Ballers right now. oh, and he's also in a new WWE movie now.

this is insane. i'm so sick of seeing his fuc#ing face in a movie that i could die. and the thing is i can't even miss seeing his face if i see it every 3 months in a movie preview, you know? my gosh they just showed previews for the Jumjanji movie with him and now just like a month later they are showing previews for the new Rampage movie. fuc# does he ever rest? please just stop acting already, you can't act. oh i forgot he was also in the newest fast and the furious movie last year so that actually makes fuc#ing 4 movies, 4 movies!!!??? he was in last year!!!???

he's such a bad actor that he makes Vin Diesel look like a master thespian. lol.

You mean like ....grammatical standards?

Stop watching movies and read a book.

The trailer for his new monkey video game movie came up when I saw A Quiet Place (enjoyable movie) in theatre recently... Groan... He's as uninteresting as the CGI explosions in most of these movies...

I think he has become a movie cartoon character, a transition from the wrestling character he played on TV to a family friendly caricature to insert in green screen blockbuster movies... He did a lot of child centric movies over the past decade or so...

Mainstream movies have become so debased with the rise of video game movies that 'The Rock' fits perfectly in this culture...

The thing is, children see how silly this is and allow for his presence as just silky fun, but adults seem to be embracing him as an actor and movie star, they actually look forward to his movies!

reply

It is so embarrassing, there is just nothing to see anymore, I don't know how you can even go to the theater anymore. As far as muscle men go, he is atrocious, I am currently revisiting muscle men of the past like Jean Claude Van Damme, and the bodies were gorgeous and there was even nudity in their films, you don't even get that now.

reply

Van Damme was very athletic, not just a bodybuilder type... Played much cooler characters in the past than anything the Rock has fone and the movies were a lot more adult in mood as well as sexuality...

He even has a sense of irony and perective about his fame and his public persona and image as can be seen in his movie called JCVD...

reply

agreed.

reply

Yeah but I bet 20 years from now someone will be waxing nostalgia about the Rock. Van Damne never quite made the mark that the Rock has.

reply

Yes, le rock will be remembered as the silly corporate cartoon that he is... A humourless copy of Hulk Hogan/Arnold...

Whereas Jean Claude is Jean Claude whether or not the culture in the future remembers him 😎

reply

Yeah I've been over him for years now, dude can't act. Unless you consider playing himself in almost every single role he's in as acting. Can't stand him off-screen either, always has to make sure he has a camera present to catch his 'good deeds'.
