what would America be like today if Al Gore won the 2000 Election?

Would it be better or worse?

reply

Anybody?

reply

Hard to say, maybe slightly worse?

reply

While I'm an independent, I believe America would be much better. No Bush Jr., no Obama, no Trump. The country's gotten progressively worse with each year since 2000. How could he have possibly made things any worse than they already are?

reply

That's an excellent point.

To bad you got deleted.

It recovered some under Obama but they never ended the Patriot Act, put the lid on the NSA and stopped the droning. They ended major operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, killed Bin Laden and drug us out of the Great Recession though.

reply

If he implemented carbon taxes and other libtarded policies, then he would be followed by 4 Republican presidents!

reply

I personally think America would've been a better place today if Al Gore had won the 2000 Election, we would've never gone off to war with Iraq if he became president.

reply

I used to believe that too. Naivete was wonderful.

reply

True. We would not have had 9/11 and no Patriot Act.

reply

Really? No 9/11? You DO realize it was being planned long before Bush Jr became President don’t you? It still would have happened no matter who became President earlier that year.

reply

I'm guessing the self attack of 9/11 would have made him a war president as well, but hopefully he wouldn't have gone into Iraq. It's a hard call, most people's sense of right and wrong changed after 9/11, and pre-emptive attacks against "enemy rouge nations" seemed justified. His vice President, a Jew, probably would have wanted the Zionist agenda to run its course.

9/11 would not have happened so much better.

reply

Why would 9/11 not have happened? It was planned and in “training” for years. (late 1990s). Bush was POTUS for less than 9 months when it happened.

Dubya was asleep at the switch.

reply

Yeah, we all know that. It still does not mean none of it would have happened. Odds are at least some of that attack would have still occurred, perhaps sooner, perhaps later.

Bottom line, this whole thread, including my statements, is moot.

The Clinton-Gore administration was on top of the situation and fighting hard against Al Qaeda, not ignoring warnings the way Bush-Cheney were. It makes a big difference.

Next thing you'll tell me Deep Space Nine was a good show.

reply

I think I might agree with you there.

reply

Why would 9/11 not have happened?

It would not have happened because he would have put on his cape, shouted "EXCELSIOR!" and flew up into the planes and beat down the baddies. I'm totally cereal.

reply

It wouldn't have happened because Bush wouldn't have been there to allow it.

Bush Was Warned of Hijack Plot and did nothing.

Probably worse. What he knows about governing fits on the same pinhead where his knowledge of global climatology is.
