Is there really a blacklist for Conservatives?

He seemed to imply that he had trouble getting work in Hollywood after The Passion of the Christ. But after he made that statement, he starred in a successful series on CBS for five years.

Everyone who has access to this website, moviechat.org has access to the internet. Do your own research.

If they don't have a post count next to their name, they're not on MovieChat.

reply

Kind of a hostile, pointless thing to post, imo. Breathe deeply. Enjoy each minute of your life. No need to be hostile to people you'll never meet in the real world.

reply

Of course not, you really believe there are no conservative producers, movie directors. and people in power in Hollywood?

Is just not possible that everybody in a line of work thinks the same way

That been said this guy is a little bananas there's a video of him crying talking about that weird and moronic conspiracy theory about adrenochrome

reply

He's talking about meeting someone who worked and knew about children being exploited. If you think being emotional about it makes you crazy, it says more about you than anyone else.

reply

It's not about him crying. I think showing emotion is a good thing. It's more about his absurd beliefs.

reply

Your right. I'm guessing your not Conservative though or you'd have said

"Dirty commie libtards own Hollywood and call all the shots and keep the white man down and ... " blah blah + some anti woke ranting ...."

reply

And this just came into your mind...2 years later.

reply

No. The vast majority of actors find that their careers fade away, quickly or slowly, even if they've done everything right. Actors who piss off people who matter, who generate bad publicity, or who fail to generate money, find their careers fading away more quickly than slowly.

The thing is, actors would rather think that they're being persecuted for their political beliefs, than admit their performances were lackluster or they're a pain in the ass on the set, or that they treated a nobody like dirt and that nobody later became a big-time exec or casting director who shafted their career in belated revenge. Fuckups always have some comforting lie to tell themselves.

reply

Yes.

reply

POI was because a good friend of his wanted to support him. He said he got that role only because of loyal friends.

reply

Hollywood preaches diversity until it comes down to diversity of thought. Jim Caviezel got canceled for being conservative.

reply

He certainly did. There is no question about it. If you look at his IMDB page right now, the only project he has in development is The Passion 2, despite the fact that he had a massive breakout hit in 2023 (Sound of Freedom). I assure you that's not because he doesn't want to work.

reply

He didn't get canceled for being conservative, he espouses some absurd beliefs.

reply

If there is, then Caviezel is not on it. 46 acting roles since 1991 means he is fairly busy.

reply

Yet only one project in development despite having a huge indie hit in 2023 (Sound of Freedom), and that project is a sequel that is directed by a friend. It's clear that Hollywood is not offering him anything anymore.

reply

Is Caviezel actively auditioning for parts?

reply

He's made it clear that the reason he isn't working more isn't because he doesn't want to.

reply

I don't think there is, really. I think they blacklist themselves by trying to insert their own beliefs and values into the work they are being hired for.
