Have you noticed almost everywhere you go there is some loud asshole who won’t shut up?

It is nuts, how is this possible? It’s so consistent, I’m at Bdubs right now and this guy literally hasn’t taken a breath since I got here. I moved tables he is so loud. This one might be on meth or something, his intense facial expression is frightening. But almost everywhere I go there is at least one or two people like this, often several. Talking loudly as if no one else is around, completely oblivious to the fact that they are in a public place.

No.

There's one in here, me, haha. )

reply

Lol.

reply

Kowalski?

reply

Yeah I blocked his annoying ass

reply

Did you block him for the cap lock use? It isn’t that bad is it?

reply

Well, it's just a widely accepted convention that using all caps means shouting. I don't block him, but still annoyed by it nevertheless.

reply

👍 I don't block him either, but sometimes I skip over his posts because I'm not in the mood to be yelled at. However, folks have their quirks... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

reply

YOURE HURTING MY HEART AUNT GLENELLYN.🤒

That acting😬!

reply

What's Bdubs?

reply

I think it means Buffalo Wildwings (a chain of chicken wing joints here in the US)

Just a guess

reply

Yes, that's what it refers to. I had to search the Internet to find its meaning.

One of the stupidest terms I've ever heard.

reply

Yes, right up there with Mickey-Dees or BK

reply

I don't mind "B.K." because it's a legitimate abbreviation for Burger King. Still lazy speech, though.

"Mickey Dee's" sounds pretty stupid, too. It reminds me of baby talk, like when a full-grown adult thinks it's funny or clever to refer to a sandwich as a "sammich."

reply

I'm with you. Some abbreviations make sense, but I had no idea what Bdubs meant. I sometimes get annoyed when folks abbreviate movie/TV show titles. I have no idea what they're talking about, which leads me to just skip their post. I get tired of having to search for what a particular abbreviation means.

reply

K.

reply

Thanks!

I dunno, it's just hard to imagine that there would be a loud, obnoxious ass hanging out in a sports bar. I'm truly amazed.

reply

LOL...No, never could I imagine that either...

'ROMO's A HOMO!'
'BOSTON SUCKS!!'
'TYSON COULD'VE TAKEN ALI!!!'
🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

Nope, sports bars are very genteel places

reply

That's why I never go to any of those places.

reply

I grew out of that scene some years ago...I much prefer it be quiet now

reply

I never could understand the whole bar scene. What's appealing about having to shout just to carry on a conversation with the person next to you?

reply

The bigger bars and clubs were generally obnoxious, I always disliked the noise and the fake 'fanciness'

The inflated 'bottle charges' in certain NYC establishments were simply price gouging for the sake of wasting money and time with wealthy peckerheads and annoying chicks..Forget that!

The small 'dive' places were actually pretty fun if a bit filthy...There were plenty of silly drunks to chat with, fun games of darts and pool (for cash or bragging rights,) video gambling for money, girls to meet and the frequent threat of confrontation

I preferred the tiny tucked away dumps but now I avoid all of it:/

I go straight home after work

One time I was in a restaurant a couple of tables away from some guy who was on his StupidPhone™ throughout the entire meal. He was talking to some friend and began every other sentence with "Du-u-u-de!" I felt like I was having lunch with a cartoon character (think Michelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).

I shot him a dirty look a couple of times but I don't think he got it. He was too engrossed in his conversation with "Dude." Fortunately he finished his meal before me, so I was able to eat the remainder of my lunch in peace.

reply

Yeah I hate when people have loud phone convos in public, even worse when it’s on speakerphone

reply

And the thing is, this guy wasn't discussing anything important or of substance. He was supposed to be eating lunch. If it had been something urgent pertaining to his business or whatever I could somewhat understand. But this was just idle chatter, punctuated with "Du-u-u-de!"

reply

Yeah exactly
