I can’t seem to get used to the idea of tattos being mainstream, they will always look trashy to me

Anyone else? When did it become so acceptable to be covered in tattoos, or even to have them visible?

Some can look cool and artfully done, but those are not most of what I see. People seem to go for quantity over quality.

Its looks horrible and eveyone over 30 just look ridiculous.

Injecting permanent ink into your skin.

I'll pass

I'm 38 and don't have any tattoos. I thought about getting one in my early 20s but never went through with it. I figured I would hate the way they look on me as I got older so I don't regret not getting any at all. They look awful on women and that's biggest travesty of the tattoo craze. It's hard to find any women who don't have any today.

reply

WOMEN WITH TATTOOS ARE AMAZING...MORE FOR ME🙂

reply

Yes! Exactly, I don’t care what guys do, I think they still look like shit but on women it just ruins an otherwise beautiful girl.

reply

I guess if she had one or two small tattoos that wouldn't bother me but any woman who covers herself in ink is disgusting to me.

reply

Even one or two can be bad in the wrong place. Honestly anything that’s visible is a turn off.

reply

SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD REASON FOR WOMEN TO GET TATTOOED...TURNING YOU OFF.🙂

reply

Good I can weed out the trashy idiots

reply

I'll agree on those points.

reply

I would say it became mainstream in the early 90s

reply

Not nearly as mainstream as it is today. They have increased in popularity from being virtually nonexistent in the 50s and 60s to being a relatively visible trend, but they were still viewed as somewhat taboo and people covered them in job interviews. Now they are literally THE thing to do, you are in the minority if you DON’T like or have tattoos. It’s insane, and honestly annoying considering they almost all look like shit.

reply

I WANTED TATTOOS SINCE I WAS IN GRADE SCHOOL...AS AN ADULT I HAVE A FEW.I WOULD HAVE MORE BNUT MY DAUGHTER IS A BETTER PLACE TO PUT THAT CASH...I LOVE TATTOOED WOMEN AS WELL...SO HOT...BY THE WAY...THE WAY YOU THINK AND POST...THAT'S TRASHY.🙂

reply

What is trashy about the way I think and post? I’m actually pretty articulate.

reply

Because you sit on a high horse judging everyone I guess?

reply

When I read this I thought to myself "just another reason he is single"

reply

I don't mind a small tattoo here and there, but I find women with a lot of tattoos or one really big one a massive turnoff for me.

reply

I have never gotten used to the look of them. I know many nice people who have them, but they just look trashy to me.

They look even worse on very old people. I was talking to an elderly woman in a store the other day. She had tattoos up and down her arms. But the weirdest one was the small triangle tattoo on her forehead! What in the world would possess someone to get something like that on their HEAD?

reply

When they start fading they look awful. The old hard man rule of no tatts on hands or face is totally thrown out the window by people now. Gonna be fun when the trend finally dies off. Not like a pet rock you can throw in the corner.

reply

Lol yeah I can’t wait for the trend to die off

reply

IM ALMOST 40...THEY WERE COOL WHEN I WAS A KID AND THEY ARE BIGGER THAN EVER NOW...NOT IN OUR LIFETIMES WILL IT DIE OUT...GOOD OR BAD,IT HERE FOR A WHILE.

reply

You’re under 40? You have the posting style of a crotchety old miser lol, thought you were like 60.

reply

ILL TAKE THAT AS A COMPLIMENT AS YOUR STYLE IS AKIN TO A 12 YEAR OLD WHO DRANK DRAIN CLEANER.

reply

I reckon the trend will start dying down when the current crop of heavily tatooed celebrity Z list idiots get old and their tats are stoopid and not relevent

reply

I wouldn't mind a small one on a wrist or behind her neck, but mostly I hate them on women. I hate seeing a really hot girl then noticing a huge, ugly tattoo that goes from her shoulder to her elbow.

reply

I have seen so many cute women and they have these ugly tattoos. One had Ganesh the Hindu elephant God across her chest temple and all. She wasn't even Indian!

reply

Chest tattoos are just as ugly as arm ones.

reply

Tattoos on women just look hideous.

I used to watch that reality show "Say Yes to the Dress" and it was strange (at least to me) when brides wanted gowns to show off their tattoos. They wanted sleeveless, backless dresses to show off their artwork.

It just looked like they had ugly bruises on their bodies. The salespeople would tell them how good they looked.
I couldn't help thinking, "Well THERE is someone who doesn't want to lose his/her sales commission because you must know they look like sh#t!"

reply

ALT GIRLS LOOK AMAZING TO ME...ITS LIKE BUTT STUFF...YOU EITHER LIKE IT OR YOU DONT.🤗

reply

I always laugh when people who have tattoos are like: "you just don't get it. It means something to me." If I get a Swastika tattoo, I'm going to tell everyone that it means something to me just so I can see their reaction.

reply

ITS WEIRD HOW FAST YOU WENT WITH SWASTIKA...ALMOST SEEMS LIKE A SLIP OR SOMETHING.🙂

reply

Not a slip. I knew what I was saying.

reply

HEIL SAM.☺

reply

I just gotta make sure it's one that washes off in the shower.

reply

Yes, it makes sense that a tattoo has a personal meaning to the wearer. But I was just listening to a comedian the other night who talked about people getting Chinese symbols. They think they are getting something that means "courage" or "faith" or whatever.

He said that they better hope the tattoo artist is fluent in Chinese or not screwing with them .They may end up with a symbol that means "moo shu pork"!

reply

That must explain why people were kicking me after I got my "No Fear" tattoo.

reply

Tattoo's can really ruin the look of a dress. They clash with anything elegant and feminine.

reply

I think they look awful on women. I don't care if men get them.

Face tattoos are a huge mistake too.

reply

Yep
