American Sniper feels like it came out 15 years ago. I hate that movie.
shareThere are far too many to choose from. I will remember this decade as being the last decade I went to a movie theater. Haven't gone since 2013 and I don't see any reason to ever go to the movies again.
shareMost of these choices so far are either subjective disappointments or otherwise underwhelming fare. Birdemic 2 may be a contender, but even then that's low-hanging fruit.
In order to be truly considered worst, a movie has to have ambition and drive behind it while also failing so spectacularly on just about every conceivable level. To that end, my not-so-controversial pick for worst movie of the decade is Loqueesha (2019).
This is a fascinating failure of a movie. Its ineptitude is so massive that it fails to offend on the most basic levels of racial discrimination that initial reactions purported. The story is riddled with bizarre, nonsensically miscalculated moments, and it's clearly a vanity project from a self-proclaimed "funnyman" who doesn't seem to understand the basic construction of jokes.
Watching The Room (which I would not consider anywhere close to the worst film of its respective decade, but let's use it as a common reference point), you can at least glean what Tommy Wiseau was going for, and his onscreen presence, unsettling as it may be, contains a particular Eurotrash caveman charm. Loqueesha, on the other hand, is lead by a vacuous dud who cannot even inadvertently manage to get laughs.
This doesn't even get into the technical qualities of the movie that make The Room look like Citizen Kane in terms of visual presentation. There are sound gaffes, camera errors, and an all-round shoddy level of production. There are even multiple scenes in which actors have food on their faces even though no one in the scene is eating, nor is there any hint of such consumption. What a mess this movie is.
I'll watch any movie mentioned so far three times in a row before needing to watch Loqueesha again. It takes a special type of awfulness to have its own attempts to offend (or "start a discussion" as people who get called out on their own BS often say) met with abject failure.
Aren't opinions on art usually subjective?
shareOf course they are. My point is that people who choose lukewarm blockbusters or mildly underwhelming art house fare as the absolute worst of the decade aren't reaching below the middle of the barrel. "Worst" and "personally disappointing" are often mistakenly conflated.

shareIt's too lame, half-witted and oriented toward stroking the writer/director/star's ego to be consciously offensive. To call this movie offensive is an injustice to the merits of bad taste.

shareHe's not even a proper comedian, probably because he's too thin-skinned about his material bombing in front of a live audience. He often describes himself as a "funnyman", which seems like a roundabout way of admitting that he flails about on YouTube while not taking time to improve his craft and figure out what people actually find humorous.
There's a particularly pitiful type of vanity and desperation in an aspiring entertainer who goes to the lengths of not revealing his age online.
Ghostbusters. Hands down the worst movie I've ever seen this decade.
shareI'll never forget the shit storm on IMDB at the time around this film. The SJW's and shills saying "It's just a trailer, they never show the best parts in the trailer!" ummmm what now?
The trailer was enough to show that Hemsworth was the funniest actor in it despite being surrounded by alleged funny women. There was no chemistry, the lines all felt forced and the jokes lame.
If that wasn't enough you had the black woman abuse everyone online and the director doing the same.

Worst film based on a hero no one remembers or wanted back - The Lone Ranger 2013.
Most desperate cash grab - Rambo: Last Blood 2019.

shareTo me "the worst" is a film so bad from acting, writing, directing to production. I choose Birdemic 2 because the sound cuts off, every performance is awful, the shots are badly framed, the visual effects are horrendous, shots hang on too long, it takes until the mid-way point for it to start birdemic-ing, things in the background are blurred because they're ads, and it's really only good to laugh at.
