Thank You MC!!! (this thread is now closed for comments)

A message to my MC friends.

I want to thank MC and all of you for making this happen.
You've brought me a lot of laughter and happiness over the last year.
Thank you for accepting me into the MC family.

However, it is time for me to disappear into obscurity.
Not an easy decision but one that must be done.

To all the people I've pissed off, angered, upset, perturbed,
irked, infuriated, offend or ANNOYED i wish I could go back and do it all over again.
I'm sure y'all deserved it.

For the record I'm not an american male with a Brazilian girlfriend and 4 dogs.
I'm a divorced mother of 2 who once had a Brazilian wax, has 1 cockatoo
and lives in Norristown PA.

hownos was right the whole time. Imagine that.
Carry on my wayward Dean!

I will miss this place and all of you!
I wish you all peace, love and happiness!

I'm quite surprised you've reacted this way.
I don't believe he lied to you at all if that's what you're suggesting?
As for the joke that he's a woman,it's a joke.
At the risk of sounding like a cracked record, you have given others the repeated benefit of the doubt. In fact I really admire that about you.

I think if you felt you had a true connection with Dewey then you truly did.I am positive that the last thing he would have wanted or expected was that you'd be upset by this.
It's a shame to leave it like this.

I'm sorry for butting in by the way.

...quite hurtful to a guy...

So, you're going on the assumption that he's still lurking, reading these comments, like some other members who addressed him personally in their farewell posts ?

reply

Possibly, but I don't know.

reply

I'm wondering about the finality of his good-bye message as well, exactly what it means. That's why I asked.

I do know, as I said early in the thread, that he did announce this would be coming, several times over the months after he returned from a lengthy absence.

We all miss the big fella...we wont see one like him again
A legend and NO way to replace him

But we do have db and hownos back so thats great news...lets keep this fire lit and the music pumping

I really like the new bunch that just came into our joint
We seem to be OK

When I think about people who are no longer with us (as in moved on to other things, or sadly, have passed away), either here or in our personal lives, I remember a line from a Little House on the Prairie episode (of all things, eh?). It reminds me that there are things in our lives that we can't change, and although we're sad, we must keep going forward without them. "May we make them proud." What better way to honor them?

Yes, we've got some good newbies. And Cat will be back eventually. It's a bit difficult right now, but we'll be fine.

reply

True...all of what you said...
We are getting bigger every day!
You being here adds a lot to it all for me
Thank you very humbly and kindly
You are so nice

reply

welcome back...the internet is a fickle friend...

reply

Yup Brenda came back, she had a boob job and a face lift but don't tell anyone it's a secret.

reply

WTF

You told me I looked fabulous.

reply

Loud and clear oh wise one.

You are full of surprises I see, around Cinco de Mayo no less, what impeccable timing (^=^)!

reply

Surprises? Most would say full of the shyte.

I get a little crazy around the Day of the Puebla!

reply

Sorry I misunderstood this dewey.

reply

[deleted]

you had me fooled.

reply

I did not understand this post the first time I read it
I only knew I would miss our man
He did return for a bit...I was not aware of his illness at the time

reply

I wasn't aware, either.

reply

He hadn't told me directly, but I read between the lines of a number of his posts prior to this. So I was very sad to see this message when he posted it, but it was great that he later returned to spend a few more months with us. Getting a second chance that I didn't think was possible at the time was a wonderful feeling.

reply

Yes, his 'comeback tour' made me very happy

We could say lots of positive things about the man but the first two things should be about courage and good humor

If you found yourself in a foxhole and everything was going to hell he'd be the guy you'd pick to be in there with you...he was smart, funny, upbeat and tough

He is not forgotten and he's still dearly missed
