Movie theater popcorn

Why does it taste so much better than the one you make at home?

reply

They must put some form of crack in it.

reply

That's the only reasonable explanation.

LOL!

I always thought that movie theater popcorn is overpriced, but after knowing this, it seems rather reasonably priced.

reply

Everything at your cinema is overpriced. They make their money on concessions.

Whatever is in that junk they pump all over it. Soooo good!!!!

reply

They're still secretly using ' subliminal programming.'

Yep

I can eat a huge dinner right before I walk into the theater lobby not standing the thought of food, but once that scent gets me, I run into the line and buy a bag and then eat it strictly for fun. Whatever is in that concoction of salt/butter/corn lies something more addicting than nicotine or heroin combined.

reply

It is delicious! Especially with a side of Raisinettes!

Or goobers or nonpareils!

or Twizzlers

Or M&Ms! Yum!

YEP!!!

reply

Is that a Whiplash reference?

reply

No, but it can be!

reply

In Whiplash the father had his son pour raisins over the popcorn at the movie theater.

reply

I saw that movie but I don't remember that. The dad was nice so I don't mind having something in common with him but thank God it wasn't the teacher.

reply

I've never heard or seen anyone mix popcorn and raisins, but why not. Raisins go well together with salted peanuts.

reply

They must have a secret recipe. Whatever it is, it's good.

I saw "Ghost in the Shell, with ScarJO, and got free popcorn. 😊😁😋😜😃😉😝😀😄

reply

I make it at home. Theatres use flavacol and coconut oil with beta-carotine.

There are many recipes online for it and on YouTube. You can get flavacol (the salt) from popcorn shops that specialize or even at the bulk Barn for much cheaper.

I guess I never got the "good" popcorn at the movies - it was always soggy. Ick. Homemade is better, in my opinion. From a family where tradition is every Saturday night is popcorn night. For dinner. Yes, dinner. 😛 With a bowl of chocolate ice cream. Yum.
