I'm a 40 something stay at home mom in the US. I like Italian horror/giallos, Hong Kong action, British sitcoms, MST3K, and pretty much any 70s and 80s horror as long as its not too bleak. I'm making a concerted effort to watch more classic films so I subscribe to Warner Archive, and I get Sling so I can do the addon with TCM and Fandor.

West Coast American here... I love the music of George Harrison, e.s.t., Miles Davis, R.E.M., Paul Simon, Nick Drake, Jimi Hendrix, Chucho Valdés, Mongo Santamaría, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johann Sebastian Bach, Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Andrés Segovia, and more... I love the writings of Jorge Luis Borges, the poetry of Pablo Neruda, the photography of Henri Cartier-Bresson... I love the Earth, the Milky Way seen across a desert sky at 3AM in summer, I love people. I love the thought of tomorrow. Always grateful for life because everything and everyone I love is in it or has passed through it.

Some of my favorite films or TV series are North by Northwest, Yojimbo, 8 1/2, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Stroszek, Fitzcarraldo, Night on Earth, Band of Brothers, and Y Tu Mamá También.

Some of my favorite filmmakers are Michael Haneke, Werner Herzog, Jim Jarmusch, Stanley Kubrick, Akira Kurosawa, and Kelly Reichardt. Curious to see more of Olivier Assayas, Shane Carruth, Pablo Larraín, Kenneth Lonergan, and Jeff Nichols.

Some of my favorite actors are Javier Bardem, Juliette Binoche, Steve Buscemi, Paul Dano, Gael García Bernal, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Cary Grant, Isabelle Huppert, Matthew McConaughey, Toshiro Mifune, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Keanu Reeves, Sam Rockwell, Michael Shannon, and Tilda Swinton. Curious to see more of Sarah Gadon, Rinko Kikuchi, Jack O'Connell, Saoirse Ronan, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Tye Sheridan.

On the erstwhile IMDb discussion boards, I used to post on specific movie and actor boards, and that's probably where I'll often be here, too. I also visited and occasionally posted on IMDb's Movie Awards board.

Sometimes I fall out of my movie chat groove. I have a tendency to bump old threads when I come back. :) Nice to be here.
