The thing I find disturbing about this is a country setting the stage for future action. Getting rid of social "undesirables" and like you said what's next? Seems a bit Germany 1930's. Most of the older & rural Russian population probably will applaud this or not care. Moscow & St. Petersburg populations might not agree generally but they can do nothing under a dictatorship in decline.

The Weimar Republic, in terms of urban culture was actually incredibly socially liberal for its time.
And one of the first things the nazis did do was target what would be now considered proto-LGBT institutions

China did something similar when they banned sissy/effeminate men from being shown on TV and other forms of media.

Russia will probably start scapegoating and blaming their losses in Ukraine on "western sympathizers" and then thats when the war will get very ugly.
russia is completely nut job. Every day they go more and more crazy and make up new "don't". I don't think any psychiatrists can save those crazies. Even North Korea seems less crazy compare to them. The fastest they will stop letting out anyone from their country and cut off Internet - the better.
North Korea is batshit crazy. But they mostly sit locked down in their own country and don't bother anyone. Everyone knows they are there. But at least they dont invade other countries trying to spread their craziness on others.
russia also almost banned abortions. Because they killed so many young healthy men that they need now new children for future soldiers. russia was slowly dying down for decades now. Less being born then dying. And now it's catastrophic level with up to 300 000 soldiers dying. All shoe men could have children but are dead. And could be up to 600 000 wounded. So now russian government decided that if they will ban abortions then women will start giving birth to 3-5 new russian children. They literally said that big family must become new normal. And they even want to send young people to doctors to check their fertility. Forcing their employers to send them. Ad they say young woman should give birth instead of studying. And that birth should be as soon as possible. Like in 20 years instead of 32. Basically they want women to have 5 children by the age of 30.
And more and more craziness. People in the West don't understand all levels of their craziness.
