A new worry as can the parking garages handle all the twice as heavy electric cars.

There's them tricky unintended consequences again.
The sad part is, the US could convert to all electric vehicles tomorrow, have a magically adequate electrical grid with heavy duty circuits to every home in the country and power generation that comes from fairy dust and wishful thinking and it wouldn't make the slightest difference in global pollution. This whole issue is a ruse to rile up overly emotional, dumb fucking liberals who cannot think for themselves.
You are doing god's work.
shareAgreed, CraigC is a godsend to MC.
shareHe's my kindred spirit! 🤣

Thanks for the kind words, I do what I can, as often as I can stand it. Sometimes I just don't have the patience for these children.
shareI still want to know how all the EVs will be powered without fossil fuels or nuclear....??

I keep trying to tell them, nothing actually runs on wishful thinking.
shareThe whole issue is
A) fossil fuesl are running out
b) pollution
Everyone pouring scorn on EVs for whatever reason will ALSO need a big bag of fairy dust to power their V8s .
Oil is limited.
No, they are not.
We're pouring scorn on EV's because of significant logistical issues. I'm all for a slow, measured and calculated roll into suitable alternatives. Not this idiotic bullrush into shit that doesn't work. Especially when the rest of the world doesn't give a shit.
This whole issue is 100% political. Certain people, we will call them gibberals, are easily duped into this sort of thing because they operate on emotion. Emotional people are easy to manipulate. Makes it easy for a certain political party, we'll call them demonicrats, to manipulate them into voting for them. Because they really don't give a rat's ass about the environment, minorities, alphabet people or anybody else. If they actually cared about the environment, they'd be putting pressure on China to clean up their act. Instead, they're in China's pocket while we're fighting each other over electric vehicles and which bathrooms the trannies should use.
A Nissan Leaf (EV) weighs a max 4,000 lbs.
A Chevy Silverado 3500 (ICE) weights 7,000 lbs, empty.
Maybe the batteries aren't the only thing stressing parking structures.
just googled that .
Your cars are obese!
USA trucks have gone crazy with one-upmanship competition for cubic inches and load carrying cap.
and look at that fat ugly overweight result
remember when trucks were cool , and looked capable and even nimble?
like the Fall guy one , or the Toyota in Back to the future?
The cars have become overweight.
The trucks have grown in capability by leaps and bounds. In some cases, a new truck might have three times the torque and at least double the hauling and/or towing capacity. If you had a clue what you were talking about, you might know that.
Im not saying they havent got power , I'm saying you dont need it.
especially to get those groceries.
but people will always find justifications.
But how come no other country in the world needs what you call a "full size" pickup?
To everyone else your "mini truck" is a full size pickup
Who the fuck are you to tell me what I do and don't need? The development of more capable trucks came directly from consumer demands.
Why do I care what the rest of the world thinks??? There are lots of reasons why Europeans don't drive full size trucks. None of which apply to the US. Plus it's none of your fucking business what I drive. You obviously don't have a clue what you're talking about.
The Nissan Leaf is a tiny car to weigh 4000lbs.
The batteries in the new Hummer EV are 3000lbs.
So figure out how much gross weight the structure can take and only add a safe number of parking spaces for electric vehicles.
Or better yet, weight every car when they come in and designate a safe weight distribution space for them.
If you are going to read an article and want to be helpful by posting it, then be helpful by posting the basic relevant information in the post as well. Just posting a link is so lazy and lacking in character.
Like what is the average weight of a car, truck, electric car, electric truck, etc.
Wow, that is just brilliant. Weigh every car that enters a parking garage? That comment alone proves how dumb you are.
