Stop making shark movies.

There's NEVER been a good monster shark movie. Jaws was a good fisherman's tale but it also sucks if it was supposed to be a monster movie.

IMDb 5.9!

reply

Despite the mediocre IMDb rating, it does have a very solid fan base and is generally regarded as one of the better killer shark movies.

reply

5.9 is ridiculous.

It should be rated way higher than that.

reply

Exactly, don't trust crappy imdb ratings

Its easily 8 out of 10 better then a lot of horror action films even today

reply

The only dowside of the movie is the awful CGI that sometimes appear.

Which is weird because in other times the CGI is pretty good.

reply

My general rule with IMDb ratings as far as horror goes is to add 2.

reply

The Shallows was pretty good.

reply

The Shallows had 2 good first acts but in the third and last act they just went insane.

reply

By that time, I think the movie earned it. Like how Jaws ends with the shark just being blown up by a scuba tank.

reply

That's not even comparable.

reply

And the shark died in a unique way..

reply

Best shark movie after Jaws.

YOU HOPING FOR MORE WHALE MOVIES?

reply

They should make that Moby Dick movie from the whale’s perspective like Dustin Hoffman was talking about.

reply

"but it also sucks if it was supposed to be a monster movie"
What a stupid comment.

Open Water (2003) was excellent - especially the ending.

The problem with sharks as monsters is that all you have to do is stay out of the water, and you're safe.

Hence the genius of "Sharknado!"
