How should Cobra Kai end?

It’s such a great show....but it has to end at some point. What creative ideas do you have for how this could end in an extra satisfying way?

reply

The original plan was a five-season arc, so next season may well give you your answer

reply

I heard the plan is for six but because of the success they're looking at more.

reply

that's not good. lol

reply

I agree ... I'd HATE to see this series wear out its welcome

reply

Cobra Kai finally dies.

reply

Would be great if Julie shows up in some way or another

Johnny finally officially beats Daniel in a fair friendly fight.

Kreese apologizes to everyone and helps send Terry to jail.

Miguel reclaims the throne as the best young fighter in the series and him and Robby become brothers due to their relationship with Johnny.

Samantha stops being a whiny bitch

The other girl stops being a whiny bitch

Maybe chozen is the one to beat silver in a fight?

I don’t think anyone is going to die. Doesn’t seem to be that kind of show

reply

I'd actually hate to see Chozen fight ... seems like a betrayal of his character development.

Instead, he uses his business acumen and his late uncle's wealth to outsmart Silver legally and send him packing back to Malibu

reply

I hear what you’re saying.

However, Chozen has badASS crazy good skills. People watching Cobra Kai would much rather see him throw down, than see him defeat Silver with...solid business acumen.

reply

yeah hard to argue with that

reply

I'm hoping that this is the direction that the show takes. I'd like to see Chozen train to some degree, but ultimately, I'm hoping he's been positioned in the show to apply pressure on Silver's business holdings.

reply

I think the last scene should be Johnny opening his own dojo where he’s teaching all the students, including Daniel’s kids. But the dojo will be called Lawrence Dojo or something, showing he finally let go of the past.

reply

this makes the most sense based on the tone of the show. It is supposed to be Johnny's arc.

reply

Miguel and Samantha get married.

Mrs LaRusso helps Tori get into college.

Johnny gets married to Carmen.

Robby and Miguel become step brothers and bury the hatchet.

Kreese reunites with his girlfriend just like on the epilogue of Kong Skull Island.

Eli and Moon stay together.

Chozen marries Kumiko with Daniel as the best man.

Terry Silver gets arrested for what he did to Stingray.

Stingray becomes Robby's step father.

reply

Perhaps, although one prediction makes no sense. Kreese was never stuck on Skull Island

reply

Of course, but maybe his shady commanding officer informed his girlfriend that he died in combat or was missing in action and she moved on with her life along with a child he was unaware of at the time.

reply

You're probably right since they already set up that scenario with the girlfriend last season via flashbacks

reply

Are you forgetting that it was Kreeses girlfriend who had died in a car crash and his commanding officer withheld that information?

reply

It is possible Kreese was lied to. It isn't beneath the US government to lie to its people.

reply

Why though?
Not telling him I get, but what is to be gained by telling a soldier his girlfriend has died?

reply

A soldier is more likely to accept a dangerous mission if he thinks his beloved is dead already.

reply

And be reckless in the process, thus endangering the mission and his comrades

reply

It turns out to have all been a fantasy in Daniel's mind during the period that he was standing on one leg waiting to throw the crane kick in the original tournament. He snaps back to reality as Johnny is coming in at him but he missed the crane kick and Johnny goes on to win the match. Daniel-san fades into obscurity and is never heard from again.

reply

i like this idea, but is also means no KKII or III. Can't have a world with no Terry Silver.

reply

It should be ended after season 4. Cobra Kai won. Daniel and Johnny no longer teach. Show is over

reply

So, how do I explain this?

I think the best type of stories do not end. Franchises can't exactly end. I think the best sort of ending to Cobra Kai is an "open ending". Something close to a cliffhanger. Some stories have too much going on in order to have a true ending.

1) Scooby Doo has gone on for over half a century.
2) Twin Peaks does not have a real ending.
3) Marvel comics can't really end. There's even stories of a "2099 Spider-Man".
4) Consider the Jews. Their story has gone on for over 3000 years.
5) Dragonball Z and Doctor Who are too cosmic to end on, thus they just keep on going.

Some stories just can't have a true ending. Stories become too cosmic and ingrained in the psyche of people.
Cobra Kai is a tricky one. I don't know how it should end.

I'm not saying Cobra Kai should have tons of seasons, just maybe an open ending.

reply

Scooby Doo doesn't rely on an overarching narrative; it's episodic content.

Twin Peaks is a glorified soap opera (which to be fair, Cobra Kai awfully resembles sometimes).

Marvel comics does have clearly defined arcs, but the sempiternal nature does owe in part to the medium.

Dragon Ball is glorified fanfiction at this point whose quality is questionable.

reply

I think Cobra Kai should end, just that it should be.....not on an intense note.

Like Dexter (the new season) and Breaking Bad had "definite" and intense endings. I don't think Cobra Kai should have a definite/intense ending like those.

The last episode of I Dream of Jeannie is not a series finale - it's just a regular episode. That's what I sorta mean.

reply

1) That's what I mean though. Cobra Kai is even episodic to an extent.

2) How do you define "Soap Opera" in the case of Twin Peaks? If you define it as that, then I don't think you've seen the new season of Twin Peaks. And you just said that they resemble each other.

3) Right. I agree with you there, the comic medium is due to that.

4) Right - but you're not looking at the ending of Dragonball Z. Dragonball Z did not have a true ending. Like, the implication is that there is going to be more adventures with Goku and Uub, but we the audience will not see that. It wasn't entirely a closed ending. Goku said that there would be more threats to earth, hence why he was going to train Uub. Then, it just ends on that note. Nothing can beat the Majin Buu saga for me, personally. So I do agree that everything after Dragonball Z is not that great.

In other words, the conflict is going to go on. "Cobra Kai" as an idea lives on.

reply

It will probably end with Johnny and his lady’s wedding. It would be symbolic of Johnny getting his shit together. And, it would be an excuse to reunite the entire cast (Ally, Mrs. Russo, Kreese, Bobby, heck....maybe even Dutch makes a one-time cameo)...

reply

I'm hoping Myagi Do and Cobra Kai merge and together they become like what the Fast and Furious movies are, where they become a globetrotting group going on hi level secret missions using their karate to bring the villains to justice
