Is there no end to the ''trendy'' feminazi crap?

Hollywierd is waaaay too PC and lost itself up it's own ass.

Is the female way only to weaken males to get ahead? Sounds nothing like empowerment or strong, but weak crybabyness with a victim complex.

reply

Hollywood never does anything half assed. When it decides it's gonna explore something it goes all in and beats it to death. This might be the new 40 years of Westerns. It will burn out eventually. But it could be a while. But they're gonna explore every experimental facet of feminism until even the feminists are sick of it. It's what they do.

reply

There is no end in sight. No. Don't spend money on these freaks' projects is the only thing I can say.

reply

Feminism is out there.

It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear.

And it ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT STOP. EVER!

Until men are dead.

LOL

Is there no end to the whiny incels complaining about female action leads?

"...Is the female way only to weaken males to get ahead? Sounds nothing like empowerment or strong, but weak crybabyness with a victim complex."

This sounds like it comes from a place of insecurity. It's 2019, guys (and I use that very loosely). IRL there are female cops, female firefighters, female soldiers, but you idiots draw the line at female action leads?

reply

female cops are useless.....watch all the youtube vids where they fuck up and gets overpowered......

firefighter?... no, they can't carry people

US female soldiers? in ground combat? where?

reply

And they should be.

Female action leads as well.

The problem? Take STD: female action leads. No problem with that. The problem? They are the only men in that show, if you know what i mean. Actually there was one strong male character in that show, guess what: he was the villain and killed.

Take Ghostbusters: strong women, perfect. The only guy in the team? Right.

reply

I'm not saying it is never done poorly. What slays me is the idiots like tom8 who make that their biggest complaint and reason that this movie will suck (which I think it will) when we all see the shitty cgi and crap dialogue in the trailer.

reply

That actually might be one of the reasons. When your main focus and concern in a movie is to be woke, to cater to a certain ideology and you do it too obvious then ... the rest falls apart because it is not the focus.

If the focus would be on the actual movie and not on the ideology then no one would complain about it.

reply

Doubtful. This is written by David Goyer, so it was doomed woke or not.

reply

Put an old John Wayne movie in your VCR and pretend women don't have the vote.
Maybe that will help you feel better.

reply

Because we can have only extremes, right?

reply

Actually, anyone who uses the term "feminazi" is kind of a joke to me. The only extreme I associate with that term is that the user must be extremely uneducated and unable to express what's actually upsetting him.

reply

The problem is...the pendulum can't shift the other way THIS quickly, without it feeling like forced pandering and over-correction. Frankly, it's so extreme a shift it should be considered patronizing. I can see some enlightened women, perhaps even ESPECIALLY feminists...starting to call that out. I could see someone like a Naomi Wolfe...or Camille Paglia recognizing this for what it is, and calling for a return of masculinity. "Let Men Be Men Again". Just wait, I'm sure the book will be coming. The pendulum...

But filmmakers are all jumping on the female and minority empowerment bandwagon so much so that what (should) be an equalizing of the playing field and of the way stories are told....is actually becoming more....vindictive, and an effort to right past perceived wrongs with a gross and extreme over-adjustment. 100 years of entertainment industry re-calibration...in 3 years.

Rather than create new stories that are female-driven, or minority-driven...we're getting minority re-tellings of everything from Steel Magnolias to Big. What Women Want.....to About Last Night. Heck, even the next James Bond and Indiana Jones may both end up being women.

And it seems like every female lead in a cop show or action show is a master at kung fu, throwing men around like rag dolls. Not that I'd EVER want to see this...but in scuffles like the ones we see on TV and in movies, it just would not go down that way....not even close. But if a man were to land one clean blow in those battles, it would be shocking and taboo. It's one of those dichotomies everyone just kinda dances around and hopes nobody brings up. I figure....adults (man or woman) watch that stuff and just kind of accept that it's pandering.

Being patronized and pandered to is not empowering. And forcing the pendulum too quickly and brazenly will simply cause it to brake. Hey, maybe "Braking the Pendulum" can be that book title.

Ripken I really enjoyed your thoughtful post. This is a very hard issue to explain in an honest cohesive way that is the unbiased and inoffensive; I find it refreshing and informative. In my personal life there are people that I love dearly and are suffering/struggling with this issue and it’s hard to find good advice on this issue anywhere... You blessed me with a Eureka that will assist me on my journey. It sure is strange that I had this kind of realization reading a movie chat site...

reply

Thanks Ripkens25 for expressing my thoughts better than how i could do it :D

reply

Well said, Ripkens.
My counterpoint to that? People who see the pendulum as being forced too quickly...everything is subjective. And if you truly believe that this is the case, then it'd probably behoove you and your counterpoint to police the people that do it a disservice by reading an SJW agenda into places where its clearly a reach. You know what I mean?

Women want to breastfeed in public, that's a social issue people are trying to affect change on, right? And while some women may cheer that Mom who walks through Target with her booby hanging out and a baby latched to it, people who truly care about the cause should admonish this kind of behavior. Since public breast feeding has yet to gain social acceptance, there are people out there who'd find that extremely offensive, and would therefore find themselves further entrenched in their perspective of it being unacceptable.

And as a casual reader of these boards, I'm telling you...jesus criminy, you cannot get away from the "THIS MOVIE IS SJW BULLCRAP" threads. People read it into everything and IMO, often seem delusional in the process. As if, out of all the perspectives they could have had on any given movie, everything is, first and foremost, filtered through their "SJW" lens. Like bloodhounds latched onto a scent, these people don't just seem small-minded, they seem lost in a never ending cycle of confirmation bias that the rest of us find tedious to the point of wondering just how much merit this anti-SJW position actually has.

My point? Those that believe as you do, who truly want to affect change, should call out like-minded individuals who do your position harm by belittling it. Because goddang, I'm sorry, but a lot of the 'outrage' is so ridiculous that it more often reflects on those expressing it rather than on the issue itself. Which is too bad, really.

Recently we had a lunatic running around with a knife in a big city down here. The citizens who got involved to stop him were men. It is funny how it is always men.

You never see these kick ass females in real life.

this is feminism nowadays:

from wikipedia
"Princess Vitarah is a Nigerian-American rapper, model, and socialite.[1] Her feminist and empowering lyrical content has gained her much popularity across the world,[2][3] and she has since developed a strong fanbase whom call themselves "Vitarahians"."
Very empowering.
