Has James Corden ever been in any good movies?

When I hear his name, I just know the movie will be bad, just like his upcoming movie Peter Rabbit 2.

reply

He was in Into the Woods, which was excellent.

reply

NO..THE ANSWER IS NO.

Into the Woods was nominated for 3 Oscars, 3 Golden Globes, 2 BAFTA awards, and got a 69 score on Metacritic.com, and 71 % on Rotten Tomatoes, which is pretty good. You might not have liked it, but it was definitely a good movie.

ITS A BELOW AVERAGE MUSICAL.IT RATES JUST A TINY BIT OVER TRASH ON ALL SITES AND SERVICES.AS FOR AWARD NOMINATIONS...WELL,THATS THE EXTRA GIFT BESTOWED ON THE 3 TO 4 MUSICALS SOMEONE DECIDES TO MAKE EACH YEAR,REGARDLESS OF SKILL OR QUALITY.THE DAMN THING HAS JOHNNY DEPP IN IT...ANYONE DEFENDING A MODERN DEPP FILM HAS ALREADY LOST THE ARGUEMENT.

reply

Completely disagree. It is an above average musical and a great film.

reply

BORING TOO...THE CONSENSUS SEEMS TO BE 60 TO 70% GOOD BASED ON THE RATINGS AND REVIEWS...THATS A "C" OR A "D"....THATS NOT GREAT...AVERAGE,PASSABLE,ETC.

reply

You said EXCELLENT, then you downgrade to GOOD.
and then you say an above average musical and a great film.

so an above average musical is classified as great film.

why ain't all the studios making above average musicals?

just trying to get some levity into the conversation. This movie is not excellent or great and it probably hovers near good or above average. I'll never see it so I won't know.

All I do know is that I grew up in the 80's and there was a movie that was promoted to "It's better than Cats", no shit, all of us just bust out laughing. We had no clue what "Cats" was. Having people walk out of a movie theater saying "it's better than Cats" was so funny.

Take care

Into The Woods was good. Not great, but good.

reply

From those I've seen, I make it one very good, one good, a few okay and several mediocrities...

TwentyFourSeven - 7

The History Boys - 6

Starter for Ten - 5
Whatever Happened to Harold Smith? - 5
Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story - 5

Begin Again - 4
Into the Woods - 4
The Lady in the Van - 4
Ocean's Eight - 3

reply

Twentyfour Seven is a fantastic film, and he's pretty good in that.

I love Starter for Ten for what it was, he certainly wasn't the best thing in it but he was less annoying then usual. Begin Again is a underrated film imo.

Was The Emoji Movie a good movie?

LOL'd! But sadly true.

I've only seen Into The Woods and Lesbian Vampire Killers. I didn't enjoy either but he was fine.

He was great in the series Gavin & Stacey though and in his two appearances in Doctor Who.

reply

The History Boys is pretty good, in my book. Into the Woods was not too bad. And I have yet to see The Lady in the Van, but I have a feeling it'll be decent.

reply

How can you talk of James Corden and forget his greatest film.

Lesbian Vampire Killers
