Season 2 trailer is out and how the hell is that all the scars Russo has on his face?

Just 2 jumbled lines on each cheek? his entire face should be covered in grotesque scars after what Castle did to him, but instead he looks normal for the most part except those markings on each cheek.

I mean he's still good looking for the most part, if he's supposed to be Jigsaw his face should be deformed as fuck and resemble a jigsaw puzzle.

Yeah, I wanted him to look more horrific. The action and plot this season looks good, though. I'm glad it's Frank going after criminals again as opposed to more military conspiracy.

reply

Yeah the season looks great, just don't get why Russo looks so good still, Frank slid his face on that broken glass like a cheese grader, theres no way Russo looks that good after that. I hope they give some explanation like some brilliant plastic surgeon work or something.

reply

His face really should look like ground beef
Agreed on your other points as well👍

reply

Needs More Scars!!!
Agreed, but otherwise hoo-boy this should be a fine season

reply

I'm a bit disappointed in his face not being more deformed especially after seeing how trashed it was by Punisher.

reply

That's one thing Punisher War Zone did better.

I thought Jigaw's face looked rubbery in that one. I think something in between the two would work.

reply

Probably cuz too much prosthetics would take more time to apply and given they are on a fixed schedule they just kept it light. I like the mask though

reply

^ Yeah was about to say this myself. They likely originally intended for his face to be a disaster based on what happened in the previous season but opted to simplify his injuries so as not to be a time consuming and expensive hassle to deal with involving heavy make up and prosthetics along with making sure it looks consistent throughout filming. Much like Tyrion from Game Of Thrones who's injuries were supposed to be much worse including missing a nose.

So they basically reconnected his injures to something less severe out of convenience and perhaps the actor also didn't want to wear freak show makeup the entire time.

But the problem is that he looks way too good. They couldn't let this go like this. Frank went savage on him, and he did so in hopes that Billy would be completely disfigured. Now it turns out he has only a few scars, what the hell. This breaks suspension of disbelief.

reply

Yeah, I expected him to be some hideous creature under that mask. Dude is still pretty damn handsome. The scars might even make him more attractive to some women.

It's kind of weird that in the show, other characters treat him like the elephant man.

reply

I was thinking the same, his face not really looking that bad kind of took away from his transformation and hiding behind the mask in the beginning and acting like he's a monster now... all this time I was thinking how he just looks the same, few lines on face but still looking hot and just a little more badass hahaha.

reply

I saw an interview with Ben Barnes where he said he actually asked for more scars but that they wanted to show Billy as more of a broken monster inside than outside.
Less about the aesthetics.

I think, though, they wanted to simplify the make up process and make it acceptable for the character to walk around mask free and not frighten everyone to death.

But like everyone else..Even a little more scarring would've seemed more realistic and he still wouldn't have been hideous.
What an amazing plastic reconstructive surgeon he must have had.
