You can tell exactly how this movie's gonna go down

Kong and Godzilla will fight for about 15 minutes in total, then near the end they'll come together and team up to take down the real villain. All these versus movies always play out the same way, theres never a real winner and the two whos supposed to be facing each other work together in the end to take on a greater threat.

reply

Sounds about right. Funny how Hollywood keeps recycling this format when the movies that utilize it end up sucking.

reply

15 minutes is a bit too generous

reply

Well i didn't mean 1 full fight scene that goes on for 15 minutes that would definitely be too generous lol, i just assume somewhere in the middle they'll fight for like 5 minutes where we see them fighting in the ocean, then at another point they'll fight for 6 or 7 minutes in the city, so in total in the movie we might get about 15 minutes of them going at it.

While the other 2 hours and 10 minutes of the movie will be people we don't care that much about talking and being dramatic.

reply

Whats all these versus movies that you say? Of course there will be a winner here. What bigger threat can there be other than each other?

reply

you don't get out much, do yo?

reply

I get out all the time and am a movie whiz on these boards. Why you ask?

reply

there are literally dozens of monsters in godzilla films that are capable of taking on both,

it's also a very common trope in versus films

but as a "movie whiz" i'm sure you already knew that

reply

To be fair, Batman V Superman had a clear winner, although that movie sucked.

reply

True, but at the end of the day the one that lost came back so it really didn't matter.

reply

Kong will probably win, because Godzilla has an unusually small head compared to his body.

reply

Nobody wins because Godzilla is in a spell by aliens. Kong knocks it out of him and they both will go home after that.Space ship in the picture.

Pretty sure* that's Gamera making a cameo.

*I know he lives in Daiei world, not Toho land.

reply

I could see that, but with a twist or two. Maybe Mecha-Godzilla in disguise shows up, stomps some cities, and the humans bring in King Kong to save the day. He takes on fake Godzilla, and it's a draw. Then real Godzilla shows up, and he's all like wtf? Kong thinks it's bad Godzilla again, so the two actual titular creatures duke it out, maybe to a draw as well, or maybe their brawl is interrupted by MG. Then Kong can be all like wtf? as well. Then they team up against the robot.

reply

Mecha-Godzilla is in the trailer, and he's not in disguise.

reply

Something robotic is in there, though who's to say what. And remember, the original Bionic Monster started out in disguise, but later took it off.

reply

Well, I'll take the leap that the robot head we see early in the trailer, that looks like Godzilla's head, while destroying things, is attached to MechaGodzilla.

reply

As long as some scientist guy doesn't say Godzilla's brain is the size of a marble and then go on about how much smarter Kong is, I don't care who wins. I like both equally.
