Are people honestly really looking forward to this?

I love the MCU and Scarlett as Black Widow but honestly this is just getting to the point where some of these new MCU flicks are just being made only for the publicity and the money. This film should've honestly been made years ago and they wait until they kill her character off to give her her own film. I get it that this takes place before Endgame but if they wanted to make a BW film after Endgame, it would've been better to have it as an origin story for the character rather than just a film about a series of events the character went through in between Civil War and Infinity War.

I find it a little baffling that some people may consider this to be the most anticipated film of the year. I'm way more excited for films such as No Time to Die and Dune.

5 or 6 years too late.

Definitely. Like I'm still looking forward to it and plan on seeing it opening weekend no doubt. But I'm still not that crazy about it to be honest, especially compared to other films coming out this year like Dune, No Time to Die, or Suicide Squad. I definitely agree she shouldve gotten her film like 5 yrs ago and that the film is a little too overhyped.

The Disney + Marvel shows are making a ton of money and getting a lot of hype lately, so that's a good indication this movie will make bank.

Scarlett and Florence together in a movie. I can't wait to see it.

It stars Scarlett Johansen, Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, and David Habour, so I'm excited.

Also, I'm not defending them not doing this movie earlier (instead of the pathetic Captain Marvel film), but the reality is, this isn't solely a cash grab as much as it's a way to set off Florence as the next Black Widow.

After 'Endgame,' I'm pretty much done with the MCU. There are only like three characters I'm still interested in following, and I no longer care about all the interconnection.

However, Black Widow is the #1 film I'm still looking forward to.

reply

Same here. I still intend on watching every upcoming mcu flick because I am still a supporter of the franchise however my anticipation for the upcoming films in this universe aren't nearly as it was pre Endgame. The characters I'm looking forward for the most are Spiderman, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Thor, and The Guardians.

Johansson's cute and I like watching her run, jump, and fight, but I've got no interest in a Black Widow film as far as the character goes. Maybe a few years ago, but not now.

Scarlett is a beautiful actress for sure and I love her as the character. I'm still seeing this film no doubt but yes, it's long overdue. I get that this film may also set up Florence's character for upcoming films but still we shouldve gotten this film before Endgame and they could've still set up her character. Similar with what Civil War did with Spiderman and Black Panther. This film coming out now I feel will take away the emotional impact of Black Widows death in Endgame. I Just feel like fans and the MCU needs to move on from the old characters and start focusing on the future avengers.

Only if it was rated R for strong sexual situations. 😂

My only reason for watching it is David Harbour 😍😍😍
