Ruined within five minutes.

First flying scene even, the dive with the burning engine. This B-17 sounds suspiciously like a small single-engine plane at an airshow.

If they don't pay attention to important details like that, it raises concerns for the rest of the series.

And so it shows. This is garbage for the uneducated, not for aviation or history buffs.

"This is garbage for the uneducated, not for aviation or history buffs."

Harsh, but accurate.

reply

The series wasn't produced so that chickenshits could prove what big history and aviation buffs they are.

Nobody is concerned if you will be able to point out similar inaccuracies that nobody else gives a crap about.

reply

Neeeeerd.

No one cares.

reply

They're not smart enough to care.

reply

I doubt any historical drama would ever pass your test then.

reply

My buddy is the biggest aviation freak I've ever met. He goes to probably 10 airshows a year and specifically loves WWII planes. He loves this show and knows there are inaccuracies and boatloads of CGI. Go figure. I guess it depends on your ability to suspend disbelief. The only thing he doesn't like is Austin Butler. 😂

reply

The sound design is lacking. I think the soundtrack isn't great either. I'm fine with the CGI. Putting 50 planes on the screen for a tv show is a tall order.

reply

This show is solid proof that Steven Spielberg has lost it. Show lacks any soul and we get way too many people we should care about somehow for no reason given.

reply

And the series could've strengthened by featuring homages to Masters Of The Universe, perhaps even giving He-Man, Skeletor, Tila, The Sorceress, and Man At Arms cameos

reply

By the Power of Grayskull! Defeat Nazi Skeletor!!

reply

the historical accruacy police is here. be aware anyone

reply

I'm watching episode four now, I must be a masochist.

They literally have EVERYTHING wrong in this series, this is by far the worst WWII thing I have ever seen.

Best scene so far: B-17 is hit hard by flak and loses several engines, OVERTAKES other B-17 and crashes on top of it, killing everyone.

I can't wait to see what other gems they have in store for us.

reply

are you sure its worse then the pacific?

in the pacific they litterly nerfed all the japanese soldier and made them apes who run into machine gun fire.

reply

If you are referring to the battle of the Teneru at the mouth of Alligator Creek on Guadalcanal, then yeah, the Japanese did wade right into that machine gun fire and lost around 800 men in the battle that night. The marines lost around 40.

Look up Sir Jacob Vouza if you want to read about who the real hero of that battle was. He had quite an interesting life.

reply

i dont think so. the pacific is set around 44-45.

reply

I’m telling ya. 1942

reply

i was actually talking about the john basilone battle in episode 2.

reply

Where did that battle take place?

reply

Well I’m sure episode 2 took place before the depiction of the battle of the Teneru. It would have to have been another battle on Guadal Canal in 1942. There were several other battles there where the Japanese attacked head on into set US positions taking horrendous casualties.

reply

Did you ever look it up?
