If a 6'5" heavily-muscled hairy strong male body-builder suddenly announced that he wanted to have radical surgery to remove most of his muscle mass, chemically remove all his body hair, have his vocal cords surgically altered so that he could only speak in a high pitch, take steroids to decrease his bone mass, and have his body fat redistributed and implanted on his ass and hips, you'd call him crazy, right?

If you don't think that's a mental illness, then you don't know what mental illness is.

Since when was anyone uncomfortable with their gender at birth?

People are not "assigned" gender at birth. They factually, biologically are either male or female at birth. Later on, if they don't like that and are willing to dress up as the other gender, and drastically alter themselves with drugs and surgery, they are absolutely mentally ill, and should be protected from themselves, and from all the quack psychologists and doctors who play along with the lunacy.

And don't give me that crap that sex and gender are not the same thing. Up until very recently, gender was nothing more than a synonym for sex. Any pre-woke dictionary will confirm that. The idea that gender is something else is an illiterate, unscientific woke social construct.

What counts as "mental illness" to you?

In any case, it barely matters what it means in clinical standards. Most people who accuse it do so with a broad definition in mind.

Advocates who deny it to be a "mental illness", can't escape from describing it as delusional, fanatical, suicidal, and a whole slew of other unhealthy things.
