shareI was in Ft Worth two weeks ago for a concert. I’m from Louisiana so I’ve travel eastern TX frequently. It’s landscape there is not much different from central and northern Louisiana.

shareI’ve been to 6th street in Austin several times but I’ve never been to Deep Elum in Dallas though. The last time I was in Austin was to see The Cure at a festival there in 2019. I think it was Austin City Limits. I’m actually from the Livingston Parish area.
sharedrove through that way heading to nola, just assumed you'd be seeing those shows in houston rather than up north but maybe not one of their stops. next time in austin catch a show at the moody center, another excellent venue.
shareI used to do some hauling for work so the long drives are a cinch for me. But yeah, Austin seems like a great place these days. I can’t say the same for Nola though. The crime and everything associated with it just never seemed to recover from after Katrina.
shareNOLA is incredibly bad. Went a few years ago. I can only imagine the state it's in after the pandemic. Hopefully I won't be returning lol
shareI still go because there are record stores I go to every other month or so, but most people I know avoid it like the plague. Places on Baton Rouge are a no man’s land now too.
shareI really like Galveston honestly haha. Some of the areas near Harlingen I also find quiet and peaceful so I enjoy those as well. College Station has been good. Of the 3/4 major cities I would say Dallas is my favorite. I've gone to that massive flea market many times as well as a few Stars games. Houston, Tyler, Beaumont, and Austin have been some of my least favorite places. HBU?
sharewhen ya only know rural central texas any of those big cities are impressive & fun. galveston was a get away long ago when my family would rent a beach house every summer but i'd suggest Lake Whitney and the diving cliffs for some backroad adventure.
