reply

reply

God, I hope not.

reply

Most likely a dud indeed.

reply

will be a huge flop, like snake eyes...

reply

With Timmy the twink as the lead , probably

reply

haha wut

reply

doesn't seem the movie will do more than break even , so partial credit

reply

i doubt it as well, reboots hardly even work. the first one was even all that successful. and its a terrible time to release a movie like this....

reply

Let's hope it is a flop, the original was, and the story sounds fucking boring.

reply

The 1984 David Lynch movie is a classic and very, very good. Frank Herbert's novel is also quite good. This new story might be good but I doubt it.

reply

The 1984 David Lynch movie was so bad it was good.

reply

It wasnt bad at all.

reply

it was pretty bad, part 2 will prob never be made now.

reply

It's a bizarre film for sure... and I don't even know if I would classify it as "so bad it was good", because acting wise and visually, the movie was and still is quite stunning. It's easy to forget that it's filmed on sets, and it actually looks like an epic sci-fi story unfolding on a foreign world.

But it's hard to get into, only a few characters are relatable, and the story beats aren't entirely cohesive, but it is entertaining and has some highly memorable sequences. Also, Sting was super awesome in the film.

reply

Frank Herbert's novel is outstanding. They wouldn't have tried to make two movies based on it if it wasn't.

reply

Yeah, it flops badly. Really badly. It kills Villeneuve's career.

reply

I really hope that is true. Villenueve is not a quality director.

reply

Not a reboot , not a remake and nothing like John Carter , do you realize this is an adaptation from Frank Herbert's novel?
