The Hot Chick

The plot of this movie is basically that Rob Schneider movie as a horror genre.

what i didn't like was steven king (who i like) getting all starry eyed on twitter and announcing vince vaughn (who i like) deserves an oscar nomination for this performance (which he saw only in the trailer) when rob schneider (who i also like) did the same performance first, and i bet king would turn his nose if someone mentioned schneider deserved an oscar for his peformance in the hot chick before this trailer was released.

Vince Vaughn and Rachel McAdam were also in one season of True Detective together, funny enough.

reply

Yep, this is a complete rip off of The Hot Chick with a bit of comedic horror added to it. Just goes to show you how out of ideas hollywood is that they're going back to the early 2000's and ripping off Rob Schneider movies.

Whats gonna be next a rip off of Deuce Bigelow where a guy ends up watching a serial killer's house and he begins trying his hand at it but ends up being terrible and messing up every kill attempt.

reply

Yep. And they are not even trying to hide it.

Can't wait for the scene where they investigate his penis.

reply

i haven't seen hot chick mentioned in any of the major reviews. it's sad that people are afraid to mention rob schneider because it's popular to hate on him because of south park.

Comedies are so understated these days. Which can still be good. But I miss this sort of over-the-top brand of humor. Last one I can remember was Popstar w/ Andy Samberg. Would love to know if I'm overlooking some good ones.

Probably a result of the SNL pipeline drying up. You need a household name to carry these movies. And that show just isn't producing those, any longer.

This movie is from the same director that made Happy Death Day. Happy Death Day was basically The Groundhog Day with a serial killer.

Now he made The Hot Chick with a serial killer.

With such explosive creativity... who knows what will be his next movie? Breakfast in Tiffany's with a serial killer? Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with a serial killer? Beetlejuice with a serial killer? Nightmare Before Christmas with a serial killer? In&Out with a serial killer? Four Weddings and One Funeral with a serial killer? Hard to say...

reply

There have been lots of inventive time loops movies since groundhog Day. And it's not like hot chick was the first body swap movie. There is nothing wrong with using a cool idea and putting a different spin on it.

reply

Of course.

Just saying: the last three movies of this director have taken somebody else's cool idea to add the exact same spin on it. The three fucking times.

Happy Death To You. Groundhog Day + Spin, a Serial Killer
Happy Death To You 2. Groundhog Day (again) + Spin... guess it? yeap, a Serial Killer!
Freaky. The Hot Chick + Spin... guess the spin? you'd never imagine it! a Serial Killer!!

reply

The director is Christopher Landon, son of actor Michael Landon (Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie). I always thought that was funny.

reply

Rob Schneider is...A Killer! And he's about to find out that not everything is gumdrops and rainbows when you're a serial murderer. Derp derp dee derpity derp derp doo.
