Could Ken Jennings' Twitter controversies doom his chance to become permanent Jeopardy! host?

Jennings' Twitter problems may have botched his audition before any of his episodes as interim host have aired.

Give it to Anderson Cooper.

reply

He's way too gay.

reply

Please no..

What about the other fella, Holzhauer?

reply

Yes, I think James should host.

With that flat monotone voice and personality? Never will happen not in a million years.

Anderson Cooper

Evidently not. We just saw him on tv last night, hosting the show. I like that he was honest that nobody could ever replace Trebek, and while Ken was a bit awkward, he did carry on the show very well, and he made it clear that everyone was doing it to honor Alex :D I think he should be given a chance to grow into the role. Even Alex had to grow into it for the first few years he was host.

Maybe they should try this guy as a guest host -- https://static.independent.co.uk/2021/01/07/17/1294935351-1.jpg

I think Ken has been doing an excellent job. He really understands the pace and rhythm of the show, and is able to keep things moving...while also knowing when and where to add a comment or two. He's extremely smart (obviously)...as was Alex, and that really helps, because he can add color or context occasionally to the answers.

I was surprised at what a natural he is...and I suppose a lot of that comes from how often he has been around the show in the past. His legacy on the show, and his love and respect for Alex...make him the perfect fit. And, he has shown he is comfortable in front of the camera being a host.

Keep Ken as the new host! (Assuming he wants the gig)

The only offensive thing in all of this is Jennings's groveling apology. I'll forgive him that, though. He needs to learn to say "F 'em if they can't take a joke."
