Did anyone feel bad for Buzz when Kevin destroyed his bedroom?

Growing up I always cringed at the scene when Kevin was climbing on the shelves in Buzz's bedroom and caused a huge mess in his bedroom after the shelves get destroyed.

reply

I didn't feel bad for Buzz at all in any of the movies. Kevin's the only character I feel sorry for, except of course for Old Man Marley, and the Bird Lady in Home Alone 2.

reply

While I agree Buzz wasn't exactly a likable character but I did cringe at the scene when he unintentionally destroyed his wall shelf and caused a huge mess in his bedroom when I was a kid.

reply

I'd feel bad for Kevin. Buzz is going to twist him like a pretzel.

reply

I feel sorry for anyone who crosses paths with Kevin. Kids got serial killer written all over him. I imagine he grew up to be Jigsaw.

reply

Have you seen 'The Good Son'? :-)

reply

Don't you mean 'The further adventures of Kevin McCallister'?

reply

:-) lol

reply

Nope not at all! He deserves every bad thing that ever happened to him.

reply

Speaking of Buzz, he reminds me of Syd from Toy Story...a movie that also had a Buzz!

reply

Buzz is definitely a unlikable character. But bare in mind in regards to his room.

All his shelves and belongings were trashed and laying in a big pile in his room.
His tarantula, that he did actually care about, was now missing, and roaming the house somewhere, which would probably freak everyone out.
Kevin took all of his money that hey had stashed on the top shelf.
And to top it off, Kevin went thru his private chest.

Further insult to injury, Buzz was actually nice to Kevin on Christmas when the whole family was reunited. Perhaps he would try to be nicer to his youngest brother for now on. But that went right out the window when he saw his room.

reply

Could never understand how Kevin cleaned up every other inch of the house that was trashed and yet somehow forgot to clean up the mess in Buzz's room...that or he looked at it and was just too overwhelmed and decided to take the heat.

reply

Don't take this the wrong way, but can you imagine an 8 year old actually being able to use hammer and nails to put those shelves back up? Much less him walking to a local hardware store and buying new shelves by himself?

reply

Eh?
Did you not see those elaborate traps he set? Putting a few shelves back up was nothing compared to that.

reply

Somehow even those seem more believable than him hammering shelves together.

reply

I didn't. He deserved it. I mean Buzz was bullying Kevin all the time, so he got what he deserved.

reply

Nah, at least Buzz had his girlfriend's (woof!) shoulder to cry on!

reply

I didn't. Buzz was always bullying Kevin. I mean maybe Kevin wasn't so innocent either, but to bully him doesn't solve the problem. So no I didn't feel bad for Buzz at all. He deserved it.

reply

Yes! I did feel very bad............................that poor little tarantula! He wasn't bothering anybody and was probably more scared of Harry and Marv then they were of him. Lol

As for Buzz, no! Screw him, he was a terrible brother.

reply

I agree Buzz was a bully who had it coming, as a kid I just couldn't bear with the fact that Buzz's bedroom got destroyed despite Buzz not being a highly likable character although I find him to be better than Uncle Frank.
