I’m surprised there isn’t a Halloween movie already titled simply “Michael Myers.” Seems like something Hollywood would actually do to reboot the franchise or make it seem like the definitive Myers Halloween movie.

shareBeing that you had Halloween, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, maybe calling the 2018 one something like Hallowen Reborn or Halloween Contiues, or something like that would've been more apt.
I guess maybe calling it Halloween references back to the first one more, so they thought that would be better at bringing in new or younger fans.
They could call it "HALLOWEEN RECYCLED"

shareIt would be a silly title. Thats also why there is no movie called Freddy Kruger or Jason Voorhees. Texas Chainsaw did it with Leatherface and it was a disaster

shareThere was "Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers" in 1988 and ", Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers" in 1989, "Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers" in 1995. I realize that they aren't simply titled "Michael Myers", but I think his name has been used quite a bit already.
Besides, for me, the definitive film is the first one. All the rest , save possibly the first sequel, are basically returns to the well.
