Time Magazine names her athlete of the year

Not Tom Brady who won his 7th Super Bowl title

Just another quitter bitch who couldn't take the pressure and gets a participation trophy for sitting on her ass.

reply

Well, Time magazine is a Clown World propaganda rag anyway.

reply

Yeah, that is insane. She should not even be in the running.

But she is black and female and that's all that counts.

Thanks again, liberals!

reply

Since your name is CaptainObvious, I can't point out that you seem to be pretty oblivious to why she is being praised for looking after herself. I understand that a lot of people don't know what sexual abuse is like and the effects that it can have on mental health for the rest of a person's life. Seriously, it will stay with a person for the rest of their life. Even after the abuse, having to relive it over and over again during the investigation and then testifying, there is a mental toll. She has won 32 Olympic and World Championship medals. How is that just a quitter? Yeah, she pulled out this year, but I think she has proved in the past she can handle pressure.

Why would she, or any of the others who were abused over and over again want to compete for organizations who didn't protect them? It wasn't like it was a secret. There were investigations and yet it didn't stop. This also isn't something that is just a product of the US gymnastics team either.

reply

She quit in front of everyone on the world stage. She should have competed, then quit afterward.

She's a quitter and a loser.

And a cunt.

reply

Why should have competed? For people like you? She had won enough that I don't think that she needed to prove anything to herself.

You call her a quitter and a loser. I call her a woman who was abused by the people who were supposed to be there for her and she had enough.

You think it's an insult to call her a cunt? Think about how strong and resilient vaginas are. All they go through. Yeah. It's really a compliment.

reply

She's a loser and a quitter. Time magazine personifies the reverse of quitters never win.

Go take your participation trophy and shove it up your ass and quit wasting my time.

reply

Well aren't you a pleasant sort.

How many olympic medals have you won?

She didn't get a participation trophy, she still won a bronze medal amid all of that. Would you have been happier if she was distracted, participated and messed things up for the whole team? Would you have preferred that she break her neck?

She doesn't owe you a damn thing, and if Time magazine can understand that being an athlete is still being a human, you don't have to buy the damn magazine.

Have you read or watched anything on what Larry Nassar did to them? Are you okay with that? That should be the story, not her quitting. But yeah, go ahead and just ignore the 32 medals she has one for the one that she walked away from. This is exactly why the #MeToo movement is still needed.

reply

"Why should have competed?"

Because she was there. If she didn't want to compete on behalf of deplorables then she shouldn't have chosen to be an Olympian in the first place.

It shouldn't be a feather in the cap of the "athlete of the year" that they chose to take care of themselves over their teammates (and in this case their country). You're glorifying an act that at best people should be neutral on, if they believe her, and at worst was a move of cowardice. For all you know she got spooked by the competition and was just afraid of losing.

reply

After expending a massive amount of other people's money over the years for her training, upkeep, equipment, transportation, etc., then bragging about how transcendently great she is, she just whinges and walks away at the last second. Regardless of her gymnastic talent, character-wise that's a quitter and a loser. Whether or not she's a cunt, I can't testify.

reply

Still a better human being than you. https://www.npr.org/2023/10/06/1204379375/simone-biles-most-decorated-gymnast-history

reply

Since you know absolutely zero about me, your statement is stupid. Not only that, but winning doesn't make someone a superior human being. Winning also doesn't mean someone isn't a quitter. Quitting makes someone a quitter, and she quit when the going got tough. If you say she did not quit, you are a liar.

reply

I know your opinion of other people. It speaks volumes of you that you criticize others from the relative anonymity of the internet for failing at something you could never accomplish. I think you're a coward.

Biles did not quit at the Olympics Games. She stopped competing for several days then came back and won a bronze on the beam. Why is it you always leave that part out when calling her a quitter?

reply

You're right.

Your adversary seems to be a judgmental, armchair, failed or wannabe athlete who doesn't understand real life https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/tacitus_118925#:~:text=Tacitus%20Quotes&text=Please%20enable%20Javascript-,He%20that%20fights%20and%20runs%20away%2C%20May%20turn%20and%20fight,never%20rise%20to%20fight%20again.

reply

Some people just don't understand that the Olympic Games are games, not a battle.

If a person competes with an injured body, or a disoriented mind (twisties), they could injure themselves and put them out of the games for good. If they step back to recover, then they can move on to live their life better, competition or not.

👍

reply

it's Athlete of the Year, not "Athlete most inspirational for looking after themselves instead of being an athlete"

reply

What a joke.

reply

"It was a really tough week. It is hard being the most famous person in the Olympics."

Two days pass.

"Oh, it was the 'twisties' ... so don't criticize me you fat white men!"

Month passes

"Oh, it was sexual abuse! Yes."

You apologists are like the kind of people who say "Well let's see YOU direct a movie" in the face of criticism of a director. Biles chumped out and then backpedaled. Sorry your hero has character issues. Big time.

Time Magazine has been a joke for 20 years. This is emblematic of it.

If sports and entertainment personalities want all the accolades and glory of success, then they have to take the uncharitable critiques that go with the territory of failure. And let's be clear that we're talking about reasonable criticism in a non-abusive written and verbal form, not harassment. Sensitive little divas like Biles want to be adored but immune to all forms of criticism. It's not a statement against taking care of one's mental health to choose as athlete of the year somebody who actually competed and succeeded.

reply

If I am to be honest for a moment, I have no problem with Time Magazine's decision. Gymnastics is a more difficult sport than football and I love watching NF L games but I'm not going to let my love for football cloud my judgment. Simone is one of the best of all time. Very deserving of such an award.

reply

If she was a white chick, she wouldn't be Time's Athlete of the Year.
