Zendaya or Kirsten Dunst?

Who's the better MJ?

reply

To be honest, while I´m not particularly fond of Zendaya, I thought she was quite fine as MJ. In fact, even better as Kirsten Dunst. Zendaya managed to be cool, calm and subdued in her part. Which made her better than Dunst.

reply

I fall in the "They're two different characters" realm. Dunst was fine as the MJ that Spiderman fans know...Mary Jane. Zendaya's character Michelle is not the "MJ" that Spiderman fans know, so in that regard, she was fine.

reply

I keep hearing the rumor that the real Mary Jane will show up in one of the future Tom Holland movies.

But I've also heard they're not allowed to use her because of the deal with Sony.

reply

That is possible, but at the same time, what would be the point of only allowing Disney to purchase part of the property. That would be like Fox telling Disney, "Yeah, we'll sell you the rights to X-Men. Oh, but by the way, you can't have Wolverine." Excluding a character that is so ingrained in the history of the character and the property seems ludicrous to me, but hey money talks.

reply

They're both meh. I don't really care for either one.

Kirsten 100%

reply

Dunst if you like premature, German old lady face.

reply

Kirsten. Always Kirsten.

reply

Kirsten Dunst by a MF mile

Zendaya wasn't Mary Jane. I don't know what they were thinking with that character and Flash Thompson. Neither was ANYTHING like their source material.

reply

You need to read the source material, as both were spot on.

reply

I don't think "spot on" means what you think.

reply

It means I started reading Spider-man in about 1978, and read all the back issues from Amazing Fantasy 15 onward. I read Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man, Marvel Team-Up, Web of Spider-Man, Spider-Man, even Spidey Super Stories, as well as the entire run of Ultimate Spider-Man. MJ and Flash in the two MCU films to date are the spot-on, straight-from-the-comics iterations of their comic counterparts.

Are you sure you actually read those old comics?
