Why do Americans like this guy?

Has supply-side economics ever been good for the middle class? this seems all this guy offers. Supply side policies have been going on for decades. Trump is not anything out of the ordinary except for being crude and using ''the twitter''. Why do Americans like him so much?

reply

More don't than do.

reply

Wrong.

I think its a situation where this guy is just really good at campaigning, perhaps his experience in the media has given him a pretty big edge over the "typical politician" in this regards. He's more than just your average politician, he's a "rock star" that doesn't follow the rules. To many Americans, he's kind of folk hero battling against this new age of "cancel culture" and "political correctness".

He's the nemesis/rebel of both democrats and the group think types and a lot of Americans love it. Sure, I think he gets out of line with some of the things he does/says but later on after thinking about it, I can understand why he did it.

And pre-covid, he really was doing a decent job for someone thats never been in politics. We shall see what his legacy is, but one thing is for sure, his ideas are going to be used in future political realms. Even the democrats are starting to use them.

reply

They're idiots that's why.

reply

Projecting?

reply

Most don’t. Trump got in because they have a flawed election process that suppresses votes. America is democracy in name only.

reply

democracy in name
?

reply

No votes were suppressed. He won because it was an election where people had a choice that included a good candidate, it was a choice between 2 bad options but most saner people knew Hillary was the worst possible choice. So he won by being the lesser of 2 evils.

reply

The electoral college suppresses votes. It basically trashed 3 million American people’s vote in 2016. That is state sanctioned voter suppression.

What if it the situation was reversed? Even Trump was trashing the electoral college up and until it worked for him.

reply

No votes are suppressed by the electoral college. The simple fact is every state can select the college representatives as they see fit. The simple fact is states could allocate those votes based on the ratio of votes for each candidate but the states choose not to do that. If the states would do that then some of the votes from California would go to each party. If it happened Republicans might bother to vote in California and new york while more dems might vote in a state like oklahoma. But these are all state decisions and in no way suppress anyone's vote.

reply

States are complicit in suppressing votes. It is a flawed system and has lost its credibility as a “shining city on a hill” for emerging democracies to emulate.

reply

The US has never been a democracy. From the very start it was a republic. I dont think any country has a population that is informed and educated enough to be a true democracy. If you are babbling about Hillary simply having more votes but still losing, that was not a mistake it was and always has been a feature of the system to insure the country isn't hijacked by a few large states. One could argue the votes of millions of Republican voters was suppressed in states like New York. But when you know the rules going in amd follow the rules to the end then you don't have a problem to complain about, you might try understanding the system and the history behind it before you rant about problems that don't exist.

reply

30 of 50 states in the United States of America chose Trump(i.e. nothing to do with the 4.25 million votes HC won by in California https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_United_States_presidential_election#Results_by_state )!

reply

America is a Republic. Not a democracy.

reply

Really neither at the moment.

reply

He has a nice smile.

reply

Seems weird to have a person use actual examples instead of stark raving BS to bash Trump.
Refreshing is a better word.

Some love Trump.
Some hate Trump.
Billions of people outside of the US LOVE Trump. Just a heads up.

reply

Yeah because you post such actual examples of hating "libtards" and make fun of Hillary's body, yet when the tables are tuned using your own vitriol you get offended. Some can dish it out but can't take the heat, you and Trump are a good fit.

reply

HE IS LOUD,BUSINESS MINDED AND STUBBORN IN HIS GOALS...LIKE ALL GOOD BOSSES...YOU DONT WANT TO HANG OUT WITH THE GUY...BUT YOU RESPECT THE JOB HE DOES....HE MAY BE A DICK...BUT HE IS OUR DICK...AND IF YOU EXPECT TO COMPETE IN THIS WORLDWIDE POLITICS ORGY,YOU BETTER HAVE A BIG DICK.

reply

You're gonna like this guy, he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us. You understand?
