I am all in favor of democracy and different opinions.

But I don't think historically wrong people deserve a saying. Nobody truly supporting hitler should be given a chance to argue, his position has already lost, with no appeal possible anymore.

All these comments still supporting a loser like trump, who is taking the form and position of a ridicolous, dangerous, evil autocratic villain, are impossible to tolerate any longer.

I spend a lot of time on MC commenting movies, but this fact gives me the impression that I'm wasting my time hanging around idiots who have no clue about anything, let alone art.

Everybody deserves the same speech rights as everybody else.

Not everybody deserves a platform, of course, but in a chat space like MC, everybody gets to talk.

Free speech is for everybody, for every speech. Full stop.

Now, if you decide that you don't think the conversation on Moviechat or another site is enriching your life, that's your call, and you don't have to talk with morons if you don't want to.

I do know what you mean, to some extent. There are a lot of idiots roaming these boards. But I do find that the political idiots and the movie people are somewhat separate. Not always, not completely, but I see different names pop up on Biden, Trump, and Harris' boards, as opposed to the people I've had (pretty good) conversations or debates with on the movies or actors' boards.

There are plenty of bots and trolls on boards like this. Always keep that in mind.

Everyone has the right to speak. Being taken seriously is a privilege, which depends on how you use that right.

Anyway, I have to say that this thread made me realize that there's also lots of decent and intelligent people here in MC to balance those losers. So, let's focus on them and enjoy!

As someone who does not align with either the republicans or the democrats and as an impartial, objective observer all you have posted is partisan, biased nonsense. The Demokkkrats have acted like a bunch of whiny crybaby toddlers the past 4 years and what’s worse is they are now literally playing politics with peoples lives, they cry (unconvincingly) for George Floyd and those who tragically lost their lives on capital hill but their phony moral outrage is meaningless by this point after they actively encouraged rioting and the murder of police officers all last summer. You need to quit being a blind slave to your cult and I am beyond disturbed by your behavior. I bet you even people make voodoo dolls out of Trump and put pins and needles in them at your cult meetings or black masses whatever you people do
