If it had been say Howard Stern..

Making those comments or tweets, why do I get the feeling there wouldn't be the same level of controversy? Remember when he made fun of a dead Mexican woman? everyone got over that and he got to keep his show. Men really can get away with a lot more...

Only because the idiots who own his station do NOT have an alternative.

Fire Stern and who are you gonna replace him with?

That loser Donny “Nappy-Headed HOs” Imus?

It’s different Brian

I would not listen to Howard Stern if they paid me. I know he can be kind of funny, but that is the downside to humor, it can really put your mind in the gutter. It is the feeling and insensitivity behind Roseanne's statements that so bothered me. How much of a cruel idiot do you have to be to make comments like that, and then the ones also aimed at Hillary and Chelsea Clinton ... just a person full of garbage. The entertainment industry is not sending us its best people -for sure! ;-)

If Howard Stern had a prime time show on ABC, you would have a point.

However, I hate to break it to you.... Howard Stern does not have a prime time show on ABC.

Guess who DID?

reply

.......hmmm....this one is a head scratcher......let me get back to you.

Howard Stern is a great example of someone that has long been an offensive misogynist that has always offended me. But I always kind of figured that none of us should expect to never be offended. It's a part of life.
But apparently now we can erase anything or anyone that is offensive.

Rosanne Barrs comments were offensive to me too..But I'm not sure the path we're going down and the way these things are being handled is the right way to go. The outrage seems not to be very inclusive and rather than erasing the outrage it spreads it out over half the population and breeds a McCarthyism contempt for anyone that even looks like the offender..
Opps..you share their skin color, their religion, their gender or their political party..
You must be guilty too!

Yes, 100% correct!

If Howard had a prime-time family show on a major network, and his network had told him multiple times to stop making offensive public statements... whaddya think?

reply

Or Richard Pryor, or George Carlin, or the Dice. Freedom of speech. Deal with it. They're just WORDS.

I remember. Howard Stern made fun of Selena's music, not her specifically. Nor did he make any bigoted comments about Mexicans like that idiot in the White House. People have a right to dislike music. BTW, I love her music and have a few of her CDs.

Roseanne is a racist who thought she could get a way with it as she had done so in the past. Stern did racial humor, not racist. There is a difference. He mellowed out years ago and is practically mainstream now.

It should be interesting to hear what he has to say about Roseanne when he returns next week.

Racists have the right to earn a living.
